Remnant 2 Has Sold More Than 2 Million Copies

Remnant 2 has been hailed as one of the best Soulslikes to come out in a long time, thanks to Gunfire Games putting out a massive upgrade for the sequel to Remnant: From the Ashes. Back in August when it was just 4 days into the title’s release, it was reported that the third-person shooter had rolled over 1 million units. Now, an Embracer Group interim report has seen this figure bumped up to 2 million.

The earnings report has come out in recent times and goes over various facets of the projects that the company is dealing with, such as games like Dead Island 2, Risk of Rain Returns, and Teardown. As for Remnant 2, the game has gone on to generate over 700 million Swedish Krona from its global launch up until now, marking a commendable milestone for the title. 

Remnant II, internally developed by Gunfire Games and published by Gearbox Publishing, was successfully released on July 25 and has now sold more than 2 million units and generated more than SEK 700 million in Net Sales in Q2. That said, we have seen a mixed reception and performance for the externally developed game Payday 3 and a few smaller releases in the quarter.” 

Elsewhere, the report notes that both Remnant 2 and Payday 3 were the “main revenue drivers among new releases in the quarter” but only the former saw a smooth launch in this scenario. Embracer says the new Payday game couldn’t hit home in terms of sales, mainly because of a matchmaking error that plagued player experiences at the time of its launch.

In other news, Gunfire Games’ latest venture has been treated to a DLC expansion in recent times, bringing a brand-new storyline, another Archetype called The Ritualist, and even fiercer bosses than ever before. The DLC’s premise is set in Losomn, one of the many accessible locations in Remnant 2, and revolves around its lore and enhanced environment.  

Remnant 2 came out on July 25, 2023, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with its first-ever DLC titled The Awakened King hitting shelves on November 17.
