Granblue Fantasy: Relink’s Launch Trailer Showcases Explosive Action

I cannot stress this enough that 2024 is the year of JRPGs, taking into account the absolute giants that are coming out in the months ahead, including those that already had the privilege of releasing already in January, including Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. As of another highly promising title belonging to the same genre, we’ve got Granblue Fantasy: Relink, whose launch trailer can now be checked out. 

It doesn’t take an expert to perceive all that’s going down in Granblue Fantasy: Relink in that exhilarating trailer, taking into account the flashy visuals, and the focus on narrative-driven action. Relink is apparently employing a unique direction for its in-game art, and the effort is clearly obvious that has been put into the action-adventure over the constant years of its development. 

Speaking of which, Granblue Fantasy: Relink’s initial announcement goes as back as 2016, when it even had a different name, so to say. Its development remained troubled for a fairly lengthy period, considering how PlatinumGames was in on the scene first, but later departed the project altogether, leaving just Cygames to tend to the RPG. 

From there on out, things were picked up hard and fast, with the developer committing to a 2022 release of Granblue Fantasy: Relink, adding PlayStation 5 as a supported platform as well at the time. Apparently, that prospect didn’t age too well, and it’s only now that Cygames managed to release Relink’s playable demo, while locking in an early February 2024 release too. 

Talking about the demo, it’s safe to say that initial impressions set by the RPG are nothing but solid. Granblue Fantasy: Relink’s demo crossed 600,000 players in recent times, with the dev taking to X in celebratory fashion and saying, “A huge thank you to all players who have been enjoying the Granblue Fantasy: Relink demo on PS5/PS4!”

Granblue Fantasy: Relink is releasing on February 1, 2024, for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC, with developer Cygames expressing no interest in bringing the RPG to Xbox platforms at the moment. As per the playing community, initial impressions look solid and people claim to have been genuinely enjoying the JRPG experience brought forward by Relink.
