Dragon’s Dogma 2 is one of the most hyped-up releases of the year, considering that 2024 is already loaded to the brim with JRPGs. From what we’ve seen so far, an incredibly high-quality title is on display here, coming across as the sequel to the first Dragon’s Dogma from 2012. What’s more, is that Capcom just showed off another Vocation in a new reveal trailer, highlighting the Sorcerer in an exhilarating fashion.
Somewhere along the length of the reveal trailer of the latest Vocation, I also noticed that the Sorcerer combined spells with another Sorcerer during a certain set piece in Dragon’s Dogma 2, letting loose an instant cascade of attacks right there and then.
As the gameplay footage found itself circulating on Reddit, one franchise stan was quick to explain the matter, saying, “By casting the same spell as another sorcerer, you will skip a portion of your cast time as if you had been channeling it for the same duration as they have, allowing you to unleash both spells at the same time.
The Sorcerer is a vocation completely specialized in various magick attacks. Their magick is conjured with both hands through a large staff, and can change the tide of battle at any given opportunity. As their magick spells take longer to cast, it is key for the Sorcerer to find a safe place and determine the correct moment to strike,” reads the post’s description.
In other news, it’s been heavily rumored that Dragon’s Dogma 2 could be getting a demo prior to its release, though Capcom still remains silent on the matter. What’s confirmed for now is that the RPG will feature uncapped frame rates on launch, at least on PC.
