Icerind Hatchet Weapon’s Location
As we’ve mentioned before, the Icerind Hatchet is a relatively early game item. You can get it as soon as you kill Godrick the Grafted. To get to Icerind Hatchet’s location, the Tarnished can start from the Temple Quarter Site of Grace in Liurnia of the Lakes. This Site of Grace is located just below the Raya Lucaria Academy.
Once at the Temple Quarter Site of Grace, head to the southeast direction, to the ruins of a tower. Inside these ruins, you’ll find the Icerind Hatchet location in Elden Ring.
One of the best things about the Icerind Hatchet Weapon’s location is that to get here is easy. You don’t have to fight any boss, or scary monsters to get here. You’ll only find a few Alburniac that have wandered away from the Village of the Albinaurics. Apart from that, there is nothing else in between you and the Icerind Hatchet.
Icerind Hatchet Stats
The early-to-mid game Icerind Hatchet’s location in Elden Ring might give an impression that it is a simple weapon. But no, the weapon deals massive damage with its Hoarfrost Stomp. The damage was so massive that the developers had to nerf it in the 1.03 Patch of Elden Ring.
They nerfed the casting time, damage, and increased its stamina consumption. Even then, the Icerind Hatchet weapon is powerful.
The difference between the pre-nerf casting time and new casting time is barely noticeable. But when it comes to stamina consumption, that has increased a lot. This will heavily affect its abuse of spamming. But when it comes to damage reduction, although they haven’t mentioned the numbers, we have estimated that it’s about 50%.
Overall, the Icerind Hatchet is a viable weapon for frost builds. It causes frostbite (65) to the enemies. This increases damage dealt with the enemies by lowering their damage absorption by 20%. It reduces stamina recovery too.
When it comes to light attacks and heavy attacks, it does damage as a typical weapon would. But this can be ignored thanks to its ability.
Overall, the Icerind Hatchet is a powerful weapon. Its location is relatively easy to find. Defeat Godrick the Grafted and the weapon will be available for the Tarnished to find it.
Even though the Icerind Hatchet weapon was nerfed in Elden Ring Patch Notes 1.03, Hoarfrost Stomp ability is best to cheese several boss fights. Before you go, why not read our Elden Ring Bosses Tier List.
