The Hoarfrost Stomp in action

The soulsborne Elden Ring is catering to its players’ needs, not only providing them with a rich gameplay experience but also giving them a huge variety of weapons, shields, armor sets, and spells. After the update, the weapon is nerfed slightly but it is still pretty effective.

You can find this Ash of War in the Carian Manor located in the Liurnia of the Lakes, on the northern side. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to get to the Hoarfrost Stomp’s location.

Finding Liurnia of the lakes can be quite hard as there are two routes you can take to reach Liurnia. While one is hidden and you can access it anytime, the other route is a challenging one.

One way to Liurnia of the Lakes is through the Stormveil Castle, which is definitely not an easy path. You will have to fight Margit the Fell Omen, who guards the entrance of the Stormveil Castle. Not only this, but you will also have to face Godrick the Grafted as you will have to leave through the Lake Facing Cliffs entrance in order to reach Liurnia of the Lakes. But you can find an Ash of War, Carian Greasword here.

The other route is probably the best one to reach Liurnia of the Lakes. This path lies on the right side of the castle and is a hidden one. The only challenge here is finding it. Start your journey from the Stormhill shack and head north. Move straight ahead on your Torrent horse under the bridge, and you will find another bridge.

Crossing both the bridges, you will find a path on the Cliffside. Moving past the wolves, you will find yourself near the Lake Facing Cliffs Site of Grace. This is how you will reach Liurnia of the Lakes to get to the location of the Hoarfrost Stomp in Elden Ring.

Caria Manor is a large estate located in the far North of Liurnia, and this is where we will find our Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War. To reach the Caria Manor start from the Liurnia Lakeshore Site of Lost Grace and head northwest towards the watery swamp until you reach the Laskyar Ruins.

Make your way through the Laskyar Ruins to the northwest of the Scenic Isle. From the Isle, you must go to the Boilprawn Shack. In the west of Boilprawn Shack is the Rose Church, your next destination. You will see the Temple Quarter nearby. Head into the west side of the Temple and make your way out of the swamp.

Keep walking on the northern side, and you will see a Sight of Lost Grace “Foot of the Four Belfries”. Keep going north until you see a bonfire on the northern side of the Liurnia Lakeshore. Progressing through, you will reach Kingsrealm Ruins.

Make your way through the Ruins, and eventually, you will reach a wall, but this is actually an illusory wall. Hitting it will lead you to the Road if Manor Sight of Lost Grace. Keep heading northwest, and you will eventually reach the main gate of Caria Manor. This is the location of the Hoarfrost Stomp in Elden Ring.

Defeating the Teardrop Scarab

You can find the Hoarfrost Stomp Ash Of War in the middle of the Caria Manor and the Royal Grave Evergaol. Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War is rewarded after killing the invisible scarab that runs with white footprints in the water to the southeastern side of Caria Manor. This Ash of War skill is dropped by the Teardrop Scarab lurking in the shallow lake.

You will see some frozen footsteps on the top of the lake. Follow and memorize these roaming footsteps as they have a scripted path. Attack the moving target, and an invisible Scarab will drop when you hit it. Timing is really crucial here, and if you manage to miss, you will have to wait for them to pass you again until the next attack.

You can easily defeat these creatures; they don’t have a lot of Vigor. Ranged weapon attacks or melee attacks are recommended here. After you’ve defeated them, they will drop the Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of war before they disappear.

The Cold Ash of War, Hoarfrost Stomp

If you manage to fill up the frostbite meter of an enemy, they will lose almost 20 percent of their damage observation. Not only does it induces frostbite damage, but it also deals heavy AOE damage if the players use it as a leveled-up weapon. Due to this ability, you can cheese almost every enemy.

Make sure you level it up by using it with a weapon that deals in heavy damage. Choose the Cold option and level up the attributes of weapon damage. Its FP cost is only 10. The Hoarfrost Stomp Ash Of War is perfect for medium to long-range attacks as well.

The waves of ice it produces cover a large area, and you can even stun-lock some of your low-level enemies with it. It’s probably the best option for your melee weapons. It can even damage your enemies through walls and pillars, truly making the Hoarfrost Stomp the most overpowered Ash Of War skill.

You can defeat many juggernauts if you use it while summoning Mimic Spirit. Even if the Elden Ring 1.03 update nerfed it, the Hoarfrost Stomp is still considered one of the best Ashes of War that can destroy any boss by spamming attacks.
