Story Highlights
- Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most beloved RPG shooters of 2022, launching to otherwise poor reception.
- The game has emerged as one of the greatest comeback stories in the industry, thanks to Phantom Liberty.
- CDPR has announced that it does not plan on patching the game with a PS5 Pro update.
Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most rip-roaring action-adventure RPGs you can play in the open-world format right now, and ever since the title launched in December, it’s been aging like fine wine, and nothing else. Unfortunately for PlayStation 5 Pro owners, however, developer CD Projekt Red has let out a disappointing statement that I’m sure many of you will be saddened to read.
We currently have no plans for PS5 Pro patch,” confirms Cyberpunk 2077’s social handle.
The PlayStation 5 Pro is here, and it boasts a strong library of specifically enhanced games that run and feel better. Ever since the system was announced and Sony doubled down on upgrading a swath of titles to the standard of the Pro console, fans have been looking forward to a number of different games receiving the same treatment, including Red Dead Redemption 2 and, you guessed it, Cyberpunk 2077.
Unluckily, we might have to wait longer than expected for those prospects to come to fruition. It’s speculated that CD Projekt Red wishes to move on from the project, and wants to bide all of its time elsewhere. Of course, the developer is hard at work at the moment, focusing on future iterations of The Witcher and Cyberpunk franchises.
Cyberpunk 2077 Is Getting Followed Up By A Sequel
It’s a no-brainer at this point that Cyberpunk 2077 owes gaming one of its biggest redemption stories, coming back to life after a disastrous launch in fall 2020. Update 2.0, coupled with Phantom Liberty, has been a lifesaver for the RPG, polishing the experience from the ground up, while getting rid of most technical issues and bugs.

While CDPR’s statement only stands correct for their current plans, it is possible that the developers end up changing their minds in the near future. eXputer rated the game 3.5/5.0 in its initial review, praising its story, characters, and attention to detail.
