Resident Evil Requiem may receive a major story expansion in late 2027, after Resident Evil Veronica’s launch. Additionally, Resident Evil Veronica’s DLC is also in development, targeting a 2028 release.

According to insider Dusk Golem, Resident Evil Requiem is expected to receive a substantial story expansion in late 2027, nearly two years after the base game’s launch. He further added that Resident Evil Veronica’s DLC would launch sometime in 2028.

Requiem’s story DLC is eyeing a late 2027 release date at present, Veronica’s will probably be somewhere in 2028 over a year after the game came out too.

He added that Capcom is focusing on several hours-long DLC expansions in response to a tweet about Capcom’s lack of focus on spin-off games.

The strategy would not be unprecedented for the series. Capcom previously expanded Resident Evil 4 with Separate Ways, bringing Ada Wong back in a dedicated campaign that complemented the main story rather than functioning as a disconnected spin-off.

The broader claim is that Capcom is moving away from smaller Resident Evil spin-offs for now and concentrating its resources on lengthy story DLC for Requiem and Veronica.

That approach could give both releases more substantial post-launch support. Still, Capcom’s wider development strategy and the 2028 window for Resident Evil Veronica’s DLC remain unconfirmed. For now, the clear timeline is simple: Resident Evil Veronica is announced for 2027, Requiem’s major DLC is reportedly targeting late 2027, and Veronica’s own expansion is rumored for 2028.
