GTA 6 has one official release date, November 19, but not one release time. According to PlayStation Store timestamps tracked by GTAVice.net, the digital PS5 version unlocks region by region based on local midnight, not all at once worldwide, which means players in some countries will be playing hours before others even reach launch day.

Sony’s regional Store listings show 15 separate unlock windows spread across 19 hours, each one tied to a specific time zone hitting midnight rather than a single synchronized moment. New Zealand goes first. The US, most of Canada, and a handful of South American countries land in the second-to-last wave. Mexico and Central America close things out.

New Zealand’s Store unlocks GTA 6 at 11:00 UTC on November 18, which is midnight local time. The US doesn’t catch up until 05:00 UTC on November 19, matching midnight Eastern. That’s an 18-hour gap between the two, meaning New Zealand players could realistically be well into the game before it’s even November 19 on the East Coast. Australia unlocks 2 hours later, South Korea and Japan unlock 4 hours later, and UK and EU countries unlock roughly 13 hours later than New Zealand.

This schedule also only covers the digital PS5 version specifically; physical PS5 codes are already confirmed to be region-locked to the account they’re purchased for, unlike Xbox’s retail codes, so the unlock time that matters is still whichever region a player’s account is actually set to.
