After much anticipation for years, and a demo leak just a few days before its release, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has finally released today, and much to the surprise of fans and players worldwide, has performed flawlessly. It has performed so well that it has completely crushed the all-time concurrent players record for the LEGO franchise on Steam (a number that is still rising and refuses to slow down) to become the biggest LEGO release on Steam. Well, now it has another quite an achievement under its belt.
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has CRUSHED the all-time concurrent players record for the Lego franchise on Steam
LEGO Top 5 All-Time Players Peak
• Skywalker Saga – 62,667
• Marvel Super Heroes- 5,953
• The Hobbit – 5,550
• Ninjago – 5,434
• Lord of the Rings – 5,045 pic.twitter.com/pxurhoFYqh— Benji-Sales (@BenjiSales) April 5, 2022
According to the Top Sellers page on Steam, a page that lists and ranks the top-selling games on the popular digital games storefront, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has dethroned the powerhouse that is Elden Ring, to become the top-selling game on Steam, and that, too, on its day of release and just in a matter of a few hours.
This is no small feat, as Elden Ring is no ordinary game. It is one of the highest-rated games of all time and also considered by many to be one of the greatest games of all time, if not the greatest. Elden Ring had pretty much stayed the top-selling game on Steam ever since its launch, and no game has managed to overtake it. However, with the surprising success of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, this may soon change, but it is still too early to tell.
Elden Ring has managed to sell more than 12 million copies ever since its release, a number not easily achieved. Whether LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga can surpass it in overall sales is another matter, but for the time being, it is selling more than Elden Ring, at least on Steam. However, only time will tell how long its success and sales last.
