PlayStation Store’s Summer Sale Goes Live; Here Are The Most Noteworthy Deals

Time to let that wallet loose just a little.

Story Highlights

  • The PlayStation Store is welcoming players to its new promotional discount at the moment.
  • The “Summer Sale” right after the storefront’s surprise weekend offer brings terrific new options.
  • The likes of Elden Ring, Alan Wake 2, and most other AAA titles have received awesome price cuts.

Another month, another enticing PlayStation Store sale that’s bursting at the seams with value. Just over three weeks ago, the official company storefront held a surprise sale, discounting the likes of A Plague Tale: Requiem, Dying Light 2, and multiple others, but this time around, it appears that PlayStation is back with another, louder bang. Expect a swath of AAA titles at prices one would love to see.

But before you can get your hands dirty looking for the most solid options in the mix, I’ve done the work for you. This piece comprises a cherry-picked collection ahead of some of the best deals you can look forward to on the PlayStation Store right now, thanks to the Summer Sale. Make sure to sift through each listing diligently for the best results.

Fighting Games Galore And Why You Shouldn’t Be Overlooking It

It bears mentioning that the forthcoming entries reflect a personal opinion, and aren’t definitive by any sort. However, I would appreciate you posting a comment down below talking about some of the other major discounts players like yourself should look into better.

1. Bloodborne The Old Hunters

Bloodborne The Old Hunters
Bloodborne The Old Hunters Is Peerless In Its Own Right

Now, this one needs no introduction, does it? Easily one of the greatest games of all time and an extremely sought-after title even almost a decade after release, Bloodborne is nothing but a gift to gaming at the hands of iconic Japanese developer FromSoftware. And the sole thing making it even better is its solo expansion in the name of The Old Hunters, which is currently on sale for $9.99.

Point being, if you haven’t played Bloodborne’s DLC, which is seemingly one of the best expansions ever ever made, you’re missing out, like, really bad. Talk about sensational boss fights, an amazing — even better — atmosphere, and remarkable OSTs that make you feel the joy of gaming, especially if you’re a fan of the Soulsborne genre.

2. Armored Core 6

Armored Core 6
Armored Core 6 Sports Supreme Replayability

Coming up hot on the second spot is yet another work of art straight out of the headquarters of FromSoft. Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon is a mecha shooter, built with pristine gameplay mechanics, and an amazing NG+ mode that genuinely sets the bar for how this feature should be portrayed in gaming. We’re talking not just higher difficulty, but the actual, real ending of the game.

Replayability value at its finest, I have to say. It’s 30% off at the moment, which sets you back $42. Do give it an honest shot and let me know what you think of it afterward.

3. Alan Wake 2

Alan Wake 2 on the PS Store
Alan Wake 2 Is the Definitive Survival Horror Experience

Remedy’s Alan Wake 2 is a psychological thriller cum survival horror like no other, serving as the sequel to the first Alan Wake from 2010 that spans more than a decade-long time period of anticipation. Called the ultimate Remedy experience by many, there’s no reason you shouldn’t treat yourself to an experience as rich in storytelling and gameplay as this, and with a physical edition now out, you’ve got all the more reason to get the game one way or the other.

eXputer reviewed Alan Wake 2, rating it 5/5, with author Huzaifah Durrani remarking,

Alan Wake 2 is not only the best possible sequel fans could have hoped for, it’s also an incredible survival horror game in its own right.”

4. RoboCop: Rogue City

RoboCop: Rogue City
RoboCop: Rogue City Is an Exemplary Narrative Action

Despite a fair bit of qualms, RoboCop: Rogue City has nit the nail on the head with initiating Alex Murphy in the most accurate way possible, offering sensational fan service for players across the board. The game, upon release, got off to terrific reception, with fans — myself included — realizing quickly what a terrific job the developer Teyon has done with the IP.

eXputer regarded Rogue City as offering “a faithful and entertaining experience for all” in its review, rating it 3.5/5.0. The game’s 50% off at present, so best dive into the world of Old Detroit and dish out some sweet, sweet justice.

5. Lies Of P

Lies of P
Lies of P Is One of the Best Soulslikes In Recent Memory

I wrote a dedicated piece on Lies of P a while ago, highlighting how it’s one of the most authentic Soulslikes in the business right now that manages to exhibit its own identity all the while borrowing elements from the masterful work of FromSoftware. The art direction is amazing — while being reminiscent of Bloodborne — and the combat is overly entertaining.

Not a lot left to be desired by this one, that I can assure you. At 40% off, you shouldn’t even be thinking twice.

6. Blasphemous 2

Blasphemous 2
Blasphemous 2 Is in an Indie League of Its Own

I’ve been playing Blasphemous 2 these days, and I can’t help but gush about the sheer quality of the indie platformer, looking all amazing with its balanced, intuitive combat and just the right amount of mystery in the storyline to keep you hooked. Certainly very well worth picking up at $14.99, which is 50% off its MSRP.
