Story Highlights
- Bloodborne is one of PlayStation’s most famous video game franchises, released almost a decade ago.
- PlayStation just released its 30th anniversary trailer, the ending sequence of which showcases Bloodborne.
- Fans and followers go wild yet again, suspecting a new Bloodborne announcement is on the verge.
In all fairness, there is only a handful of games out there that are going to leave behind a legacy as notorious as Bloodborne—the legendary FromSoftware Soulsborne title that never ended up in the hands of a sequel. Of course, this does not speak for the years ahead — it might very well be that the long-forgotten title actually gets a remaster down the road — but the constant ignorance of Bloodborne by Sony is something that does not go unnoticed.
Fueling that hard-burning fire is the recently released 30th-anniversary trailer by PlayStation, a sentiment-filled showcase of some of the best games PlayStation has had the privilege to let fans experience, spanning the Uncharted, The Last of Us, God of War, Gran Turismo, and Ghost of Tsushima franchises. It’s fine and all, but there’s just one detail that stands out like a sore thumb, and fans are having a field day with it.
The trailer ends with a brief clip of Bloodborne, subtitled “It’s all about perseverance.” Sony sure knows how to spark speculation.
Now what that could mean is anyone’s guess at this point, really, but Bloodborne fanatics are now under the impression that good news might be lurking around the corner. Don’t hold your breath, folks. Not until FromSoftware comes forward with an announcement itself.
Bloodborne Continues To Get Sidelined While Horizon Gets A Remaster
It’s beyond unfair at this point, honestly. Sony has put out a dozen different remasters over the years, starting with remakes and remasters of numerous The Last of Us games, and now the relatively fresh Horizon Zero Dawn remaster as well. Then there’s Demon’s Souls, which received the full-fledged remake treatment, not to mention the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy.
Over the years, it’s just led to a huge amount of anticipation, with fans and followers thinking that Bloodborne’s number is also up any day now. Well, it’s been almost one entire decade, and we’re still counting down the days as they fly by.
Playstation 30th anniversary video ended with bloodborne.

Forget Bloodborne. There are a dozen different Sony IPs that are standing in the queue already, but no one from the higher-ups highlight them as much as they should. Take the Infamous series, for instance. Sucker Punch’s ambitious action-adventure franchise went nowhere after taking flight in the early 2010s. That’s another hope down the drain.
Fan Expectations And The Hype For Bloodborne 2
I don’t know where to begin with this honestly. Bloodborne got swept under the rug so many times, that it’s hard to say how much exactly people want Sony to come up with a Bloodborne sequel, a remake, or basically the remotest thing related to Bloodborne soon. To give you the short and long of it, however, the entire planet wants more of where Bloodborne came from. Period.

The PC port of the title has been rumored for ages, and while there have been fan-centric instances where Bloodborne was made playable on PC, nothing official has come up so far. Of course, players have been taking to themselves to figure out a way to get Bloodborne out there more, because Sony won’t be acting on it anytime soon, according to what all of us has observed so far.
Infamous and Bloodborne being acknowledged was the highlight of this video for me, especially Bloodborne being shown as the last one. Sony knows what everyone has been asking for,” remarks one “atlastprime6193” on YouTube.
But Could It Still Mean Something?
I’ll just let the hysteria talk here. As per the last Bloodborne rumor that managed to gain traction in forums online, a new project pertaining to the IP is in the works, and with the “perseverance” text in the trailer, it could be that Sony is asking players for more time as it nears the completion of whatever the company is cooking behind the curtains.
After all, it’s been far too long.
More word, which is a little more far-fetched than what hinges on the plausible side, says that a Bloodborne remake is in the works for PlayStation 6. Adding to it is another rumor, coming from a God of War developer, that a certain Bloodborne project is currently in development. After selling more than 7.5 million copies in lifetime sales, I don’t think it’s difficult to get a project of this stature green-lit.
Come on, Sony. Make it happen already. Us hunters have suffered enough.
Do leave your thoughts about the whole scenario in the comments section ahead, whether you’ve wagered your money on a Bloodborne remake or a sequel first. I’ll see you down there.
