Assassin’s Cantrip

Skill Tree Effect
Raven  Once you successfully parry an attack, hit the Y button and toss a smoke bomb to vanish.

First up we have a skill that will help you make it out of a sticky situation. It is in the left skill tree, the yellow one, right next to the Adrenaline Upgrade in that tree. The skill will allow you to throw a smoke bomb at your feet right after a successful parry. And this is a great skill to have as it will allow you to disappear in the smoke if you are surrounded by a huge number of enemies or even if you feel you can not take the enemy on.

Auto Loot

Skill Tree Effect
Raven  Following a stealthy takedown or melee kill, automatically gather the loot from a fallen enemy.

Next on the list is Auto Loot which is pretty self-explanatory. It is in the yellow skill tree next to Breakfall. What this skill does is that it collects the stuff off the enemy that you just meleed or did a stealth takedown on. A great skill to have if you want to be sure that you do not miss out on any good gear.

Berserker’s Mettle

Skill Tree Effect
Bear  The initial blow dealt will not cause any loss of the adrenaline bar

Furthermore, we have Berserker’s Mettle which is a must-have if you rely on your Agreline a bit too much. What it does is that your partially filled adrenaline bar is not affected by the first hit that an opponent registers on you, so technically, it is an extra lifeline for your adrenaline bar. And as for the skill, it is located in the red skill tree, which is the top branch in the skill menu.

Bow To Melee Link

Skill Tree Effect
Wolf  Switching between melee strikes and bow attacks temporarily buffs the damage.

Now, if you are looking to make a mixed-up build with a little all over the place, then this is a skill that will benefit you a lot due to the fact that it will allow you to deal significantly more damage when you switch between a bow and melee during combat. And the skill is located in the blue skill tree, which is the branch to your right.

Breakfall

Breakfall

Skill Tree Effect
Raven  Upon descending from a massive height, you can automatically perform a roll to diminish the extent of damage

The absolute must-have skill for any build in an Assassins Creed game is something that negates or reduces fall damage because, in the game, you definitely expect to do some crazy free running and parkour. So it is good to reduce fall damage in case you do fall from a dangerous height. And that is exactly what the Breakfall skill does it allows your character to perform a roll when she falls from a high height which reduces the damage inflicted by it. Furthermore, the skill is in the yellow skill tree next to Auto Loot.

Brush With Death

Skill Tree Effect
Raven  Dodging an attack just before impact gives you heightened senses

Another great option to spend a skill point on is the Brush With Death skill which allows you to slow time given that you perform perfect parry or dodge, which is essentially dodging just in the nick of time. It makes the surrounding enemies move slower, allowing you to think up your next move. The skill is available in the yellow skill tree, which is to the left.

Emergency Aim

Skill Tree Effect
Wolf  You can instantly lock onto the enemy once they become aware of your presence

A good skill to consider for your bow build is the Emergency Aim which allows your aim to snap right onto an enemy that is about to detect you. Through it, you can eliminate the threat without being detected and also keep your cover if it is about to blow. Also, it is a skill that is located in the blue skill tree.

Grit

Skill Tree Effect
Wolf  Landing melee hits will regenerate the red part of your health bar

Up next, we have another great skill to have, as it allows you to regain the red portion of your health back, given that you land successful melee hits on the enemy. Furthermore, the skill is in the blue skill tree, which is to the right.

Last Chance Healing

Skill Tree Effect
Wolf  When your health dwindles, the surrounding world becomes slow, providing you with an opportunity to heal or flee.

Next, we have a great skill that can slow time when your health reaches a critical state. An absolute beast of skill because it is something that saved us a lot in our AC Valhalla walkthrough. What we used to do is once our health reached close to zero, the skill would activate, then we drop a smoke bomb and just flee to regain health and think of a strategy. If you want the skill for your playthrough, then you can find it in the blue skill tree next to Sprint Attack.

Predator Bow Combo

Skill Tree Effect
Raven  Constantly getting headshots with a predator bow results in extra damage

One of the most damaging skills in the game. It essentially allows you to stack your predator bow headshot damage a little extra damage on top. If you are able to get off with this bow combo, you definitely will be able to deal with most enemies from afar. The skill is in the yellow skill tree.

Light Bow Combo

Skill Tree Effect
Bear Constantly getting strikes with a light bow will do extra damage

One of the fundamental and must-have skills for an archer build in this game. The fact that it allows the player to deal more damage with each consecutive light bow shot means that the damage will stack. The skill is located in the red skill tree and is definitely a skill that you should not miss out on if you are planning to make use of the bow and arrow.

Stomp

Skill Tree Effect
Bear Pressing a button will stomp on a knocked-down enemy

Up next, we have a crowd-control skill that allows you to finish off your enemies that have been knocked to the ground with a single button that curb stomps your enemy out of the game. It is very similar to the ground takedown of the Batman Arkham Series. However, this one is much faster, which makes it a good crowd-control skill. And the skill is in the red skill tree for you to obtain it.

Fight Ready

Skill Tree Effect
Bear Your adrenaline slot will fill up before every fight

Another beast skill to have as it makes the fights a bit easier as you start a battle with an adrenaline bar already filled, allowing you to execute your abilities from the get-go. The skill was added to the game in an update that came in February 2021.

Unstoppable

Skill Tree Effect
Wolf By expending your stamina, you can execute an unblockable sprint that knocks down enemies in your path

A skill that was added in the June 2021 update. It allows your character to knock down enemies with her sprint while in combat at the expense of stamina. Also, we believe it is another skill that will be useful to control hordes of enemies.

Survival Instinct

Skill Tree Effect
Wolf You can replenish a portion of your health if it drops below a third of its max capacity

Now, we have a skill from the July 2021 update. It is a great skill that converts your adrenaline into health, given that your health is below a third of your full health. This is a skill that you will definitely need more than other because health is a big concern in Assasins Creed Valhalla.

Stealth Recon

Skill Tree Effect
Wolf Automatically highlight enemies when you are crouched and undetected

Up next, we have another blue skill tree ability which is essential in the Assassins Creed franchise. What the skill does is that it automatically highlights the enemies around the area, given that you are undetected and crouched. And according to us, it is a basic fundamental skill in the Assassin’s Creed game that you must have.

Backstab

Skill Tree Effect
Raven When you land a hit directly on the enemy’s back, it does heightened defensive damage and causes them to stagger

Another great skill to have is Backstab which will inflict greater defense damage to the enemy if you land a hit directly at the back of a foe. Also, doing so will stagger the opponent giving you even more time to deal extra damage to the enemy. The skill is located in the yellow skill tree and can be acquired pretty early on in the game.

Arrow Reinforcement

Skill Tree Effect
Wolf The arrows you shoot will not break, which allows you to pick them up from dead enemies

Next, we have a skill that primarily benefits the players that are playing the game as an archer. This is because the skill will allow their arrows to be indestructible. Meaning that they can pick up the arrow from the target’s body with a 100% success rate. Giving them even more ammunition to play with. However, the skill is pretty useless to the players that are planning not even to touch the bow and arrow. The skill is located in the blue skill tree.

Explosive Corpse

Skill Tree Effect
Raven Put a trap on a corpse to harm individuals who dare to examine it

Furthermore, we have a skill from the yellow skill tree. The skill is specially designed to take out enemies while staying out of sight. It allows you to plant bombs on the corpses of the enemies that you assassinate, meaning that you can take out another individual that might investigate the dead body. This a great skill to have if you are planning to make the most of your cover and stealth.

Parry Damage

Skill Tree Effect
Bear A successful parry will damage your enemy

Last but certainly not least, we have a simple skill called Parry Damage. It is located in the red skill tree, where it can be seen that you can obtain this skill fairly early on in your playthrough. And it definitely helps with the combat as you will now be able to deal damage to your foes by just parrying their blows. If you just started the game and have some skills to spare then, we highly recommend investing in the Parry Damage skill, as it will also help you deal with tougher enemies.
