Warzone 2 Best HCR 56 Loadout [Attachments, Perks, Secondary]

The HCR 56 is one of the best all-rounder LMGs in Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 that can become a long-range tank with the help of a powerful loadout

The HCR 56 is one of the best LMGs that has a great balance between ammunition, damage output, and mobility and can be made even better with an optimal loadout. So let’s jump in and look at the best loadout for the HCR 56 in COD Warzone 2.0.

Key Highlights

  • Call of Duty has a variety of LMGs, each of which excels in one category while sacrificing another.
  • The HCR 56 is a classic LMG that has a great balance between all attributes, making it extremely versatile.
  • To make the best loadout for the HCR 56 in COD Warzone 2.0, we’ll need to have the add-ons that make the HCR 56 a beast for long-range engagements.

Best Attachments For The HCR 56

The HCR 56 is easily a top-tier LMG when it comes to having an all-rounder toolset in the game. It’s the selling point of the gun, and highlighting that point should be our main goal. As such, for this loadout, we’ll be focusing on the attachments that make the HCR 56 a beast at long-range in COD Warzone 2.0.

Muzzle: Harbinger D20

Starting with the muzzle, we’re going to be equipping the Harbinger D20 due to its considerable improvements in long-range gunfights. This attachment adds bullet velocity, damage range, and recoil smoothness to the HCR 56. All of these changes add a ton of consistency to the weapon and make it super effective for taking out distanced enemies.

Another bonus of the Harbinger D20 is that it brings Sound Suppression to the HCR 56. This means that you won’t be shown on the minimap when you’re unloading bullets, improving our overall stealth. The Harbinger does slightly degrade our ADS and Aim Walking Speed, but generally, the HCR 56 already has quick ADS, and we’re going to be using it for long-range, so those aren’t major drawbacks.

Barrel: FTAC Hornet 20” Barrel

For our barrel, the best choice here is going to be the FTAC Hornet 20” Barrel. This attachment primarily increases our recoil control while slightly decreasing our ADS and movement speed along with damage range. Once you equip the attachment, you’ll see a drastic improvement in the HCR 56’s accuracy when it focuses directly on the target.

One noticeable downgrade from the FTAC Hornet is the aforementioned damage range. However, the impact is minimal, and since the Harbinger D20 already offers a boost to the damage range, it’s not a big deal.

Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56

Moving on to the lower half of the weapon, we’ll be using the FTAC Ripper 56 as our underbarrel attachment. This attachment massively improves our recoil and ADS stability. You can lock on to the enemy’s head and laser them from afar.

The only drawback of the FTAC Ripper is the lower mobility. However, since our focus is on recoil control a lot more and the fact that the HCR 56 already has decent mobility in COD Warzone 2.0, this attachment is one of the best additions to our loadout.

Optic: Kazan Holo

The built-in scope of the HCR 56 is a little wonky. You’ll often notice it being unstable and covering your view of your ADS and shoot. Therefore, we’re going to be upgrading it by adding the Kazan Holo as our optic. The reason we’ve chosen this as our scope is simply because of the scope’s accurate reticle. The reticle is very precise for long-range, where it also highlights the general direction your bullets will go from recoil.

Most optics above the Kazan Holo have a small sniper glint so they can reveal our location when shooting from afar. This is why this attachment is the best blend between stealth and accuracy. It also doesn’t decrease our ADS speed as much as the other optics in COD Warzone 2.0.

Laser: VLK LZR 7MW

We’ll be taking the VLK LZR 7MW as our final attachment for the HCR 56. This laser offers several benefits to the gun while also alleviating most of the issues of the prior attachments. Perhaps the biggest benefit of the VLK LZR is that it significantly improves our ADS speed.

Most of our attachments improve the weapon’s accuracy by sacrificing our ADS speed. This attachment recovers most of that speed and gives us a snappier weapon. Therefore, it’s easily the best handling attachment for the HCR 56 and an extremely useful part of our loadout in Call of Duty Warzone 2.0

Apart from that, the VLK LZR 7MW also helps to bump up the HCR 56’s aiming stability and Sprint to Fire speed, ultimately making the weapon slightly less jarring to move with. It’s important to remember, however, that this laser will be visible to enemies during ADS. But since we’re making use of Al Mazrah’s bright outdoor environments, the laser will barely be noticed.

Best Perk Package For The HCR 56

Once you’ve picked up the attachments for the HCR 56, we can now get to the best perks for it. However, deciding on an optimal perk package can be tricky since each perk is unique and helpful in its own way. For that reason, the perks that help overcome the HCR 56’s shortcoming, add a ton of value to our loadout, and are the most efficient, particularly in Warzone 2.0, will take priority.

Overkill

There’s no other perk that gives you a better bang for your buck than Overkill. This is a base perk that lets you carry an additional primary weapon, meaning you’re no longer limited to pistols, launchers, or combat knives.

Overkill gives you much more control over your loadout, where your customization can become much more open and suited to your playstyle. The perk adds firepower and range to your choice, letting you choose a specific weapon for a specific situation that can dominate at the given moment. It also lets you be more consistent and prevents your enemy from gaining the upper hand just because of the weapon they’ve equipped.

Double Time

Even though the HCR 56 has great mobility for an LMG, it still has weak maneuverability compared to other weapons in the game. Double Time is a base perk that fixes this main issue for the weapon by doubling the duration of your Tactical Sprint as well as increasing your crouching speed by 30%.

There are several benefits of having Double Time in Al Mazrah. You’ll be able to make your way to the safe zone much more quickly, relieving that fear of dying from the gas. In addition to that, you’ll also be able to get to cover faster when you’re under enemy fire. Therefore, Double Time’s synergy with COD Warzone 2.0’s mechanics and the HCR 56 makes it one of the best perks for this loadout.

Fast Hands

Fast Hands is an ideal bonus perk for the HCR 56. This lets you reload, use equipment, and swap weapons faster. For a bulky weapon like the HCR 56 that takes its sweet time to reload, Fast Hands lets you get back into action more quickly, which is extremely helpful in clutch situations where every second matters.

This perk also works well with Overkill. As mentioned earlier, your second weapon will become much more useful, and you’ll switch to it more often. However, those few moments to swap a weapon leave you vulnerable and could mean the difference between life and death. Imagine you have your HCR 56 equipped, an enemy pops out of a corner, and you need to switch to your other weapon immediately. This is where Fast Hands shines and shows its usefulness.

Ghost

Ghost offers you the best benefit out of any other Ultimate PerkStealth. With this perk equipped, you will be completely undetectable to UAVs, Heartbeat Sensors, and radars in Warzone 2.0. It’s active at all times and catches your enemies off-guard since they won’t be expecting you.

The usefulness of Ghost shows near the endgame, where nearly everyone is constantly checking their heartbeat sensors and using UAVs all around to check for nearby threats. This perk completely hides your presence, so you won’t have to worry about any enemy tracking you down or rushing you from behind.

Best Secondary Weapon

With the aid of Overkill, we can now carry an additional primary weapon, giving us more variety and firepower. Since the HCR 56 dominates the long-range gunfights, we’ll be looking at guns that can take care of either mid-range or close-range battles. Choosing one out of these 2 options depends upon your preference and playstyle, so choose your weapon wisely!

Mid-Range: MX-9

MX9 Warzone 2.0

As our mid-range option, no other SMG does the job better than the MX-9. This weapon excels in Mobility, handling, and recoil control, making it one of the best SMGs for Warzone 2.0. Since you’ll be doing a lot of running around, you need to carry a relatively lightweight weapon. This is where the MX-9 comes into play, providing great moving and ADS speed to hunt enemies and quickly get to cover.

Additionally, this gun is also easy to use and ideal for mid-range combat thanks to its accuracy and stability. You can keep a steady target on hostiles and take them down instantly with the MX-9’s quick firing rate.

To make this weapon even more stable and reliable, here’s a list of the following attachments to go along with it:

  • Barrel: 5” STB Factory
  • Muzzle: SA Schalldampfer 99
  • Magazine: 32-Round Mag
  • Comb: FTAC C11 Riser
  • Laser: VLK LZR 7MW

With these attachments, the mobility, accuracy, and time-to-kill of the MX-9 are massively improved. Overall, this makes the MX-9 a powerful gun for 30 to 45-meter engagements and one of the best guns along with the HCR 56 as our loadout in Call of Duty Warzone 2.0.

Close-Range: Bryson 800

If you’re looking for a close-range monster, the Bryson 800 is for you. This is a tanky pump-action shotgun with insane damage output, mobility, and handling. With one direct shot, you can instantly down your enemy and send them to the Gulag with another.

Compared to other shotguns, the Bryson has a decent range as well, so you don’t need to improve that aspect of it. Apart from that, we’ll be focusing on its accuracy and stability with the following attachments:

  • Muzzle: SA Schweigen DX
  • Barrel: 29.5” Rifled Barrel
  • Optic: XTEN Angel-40
  • Guard: Demo X50 Tactical Pump
  • Ammunition: 12 Gauge Explosive

The Bryson 800 is reliant on accuracy for quick kills. This is why these attachments make the weapon more precise and reliable. With the added explosive shots, the damage output is also bumped up, ultimately making the Bryson 800 one of the best shotguns in Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 for close-range encounters and a great addition to our HCR 56 loadout.

Best Tactical And Lethal Equipment

Tactical and Lethal equipment plays a major role in Call of Duty Warzone 2.0, such as giving info regarding enemies and an alternative damage source. Since they don’t help much with firepower, the best equipment is determined by how well it works with Warzone 2.0’s environment and gives us the strategic upper hand in most circumstances.

Tactical: Heartbeat Sensor

No other equipment gives you a better tactical advantage than a Heartbeat Sensor. This sensor acts like a radar, revealing enemy locations up to 50 meters away in the direction you point it. This is a handy piece of equipment that prevents an ambush as you’re moving around the map and a great way to clear out campers inside rooms and in the open. However, bear in mind that unlike the previous Call of Duty games, the Heartbeat Sensor now comes with a battery, so it will eventually run out as you use it.

It’s also important to remember that the Heartbeat Sensor does not reveal enemies that have the Ghost perk active since that perk makes a player undetectable. And since this sensor is so popular in Warzone, most players will be using Ghost. Therefore, it’s better to examine your surroundings with physical and audio queues to track enemies.

Lethal: Claymore

For our lethal equipment, the claymore is our best option as it offers several benefits. You can plant it anywhere on the ground, and if an enemy comes close to it, it immediately explodes, dealing massive damage to the enemy and likely downing them. Since this claymore is considerably small, most enemies won’t even see it, and that means an easy kill for you. Therefore, it’s better to plant it near a door where enemies won’t notice it.

Additionally, it also prevents hostiles from sneakily coming up behind you. When you’re at a hotspot or inside a room, this claymore acts like a bodyguard, dealing a high amount of damage to anyone who approaches it as well as notifying you someone is nearby.

Summary

That wraps us our guide on the best loadout for the HCR 56 in Call of Duty Warzone 2.0. LMGs are a unique class in the game, and they’re individually unique as well. Therefore, each weapon is suited to a specific playstyle, making each player’s experience with that weapon different.

As such, you should try out different combinations and loadouts to see which one you prefer! If you’re looking for other long-range weapons, here’s a guide on the best marksman rifles in COD Warzone 2.0.
