Warzone 2.0 Best HCR 56 Loadout & Class Setup

I've played Warzone 2 for 120+ hours and here is my loadout recommendation for HCR 56.

The HCR 56 is one of the best LMGs with a great balance between ammunition, damage output, and mobility and can be made even better with an optimal loadout. So let’s jump in and look at the best loadout for the HCR 56 in COD Warzone 2.0.

Key Takeaways
  • Call of Duty has a variety of LMGs, each of which excels in one category while sacrificing another.
  • HCR 56 is a classic LMG in Call of Duty, Warzone 2, that contains versatile and powerful attributes.
  • The weapon is a close-range beast that can crush opponents easily when equipped with right setup.
  • The Perk package for HCR 56 Loadout includes Overkill, Double Time, Fast Hands, and Ghost.
  • The recommended Tactical slot is Heartbeat Sensor, whereas, for the Lethal slot, Claymore is the best option.

  • Muzzle: Harbinger D20 Muzzle
  • Barrel: FTAC Hornet 20 Barrel
  • Under Barrel: FTAC Ripper 56 Under Barrel
  • Optic: Kazan Holo Optic
  • Laser: VLK LZR 7MW Laser
  • Better Recoil Control
  • Weapon stabilization over long sprays
  • Improved Bullet Velocity
  • Improved TTK
  • Limited Mobility
  • High reloading time
  • Hip fire bullet spread

The HCR 56 is easily a top-tier LMG when it comes to having an all-rounder toolset in the game. It’s the selling point of the gun, and highlighting that point should be the main goal. As such, for this loadout, the attachments mentioned above will focus on making the HCR 56 a beast at long-range in COD Warzone 2.0.

  • Most of my recommended attachments improve the weapon’s accuracy by sacrificing the ADS speed.
  • This attachment recovers most of that speed and gives me a snappier weapon.
  • Therefore, it’s easily the best handling attachment for the HCR 56 and an extremely useful part of the loadout in Call of Duty Warzone 2.0

Best Perk Package For The HCR 56

Once you’ve picked up the attachments for the HCR 56, let’s get to the best perks for it. However, deciding on an optimal perk package can be tricky since each perk is unique and helpful in its own way. For that reason, the perks that help overcome the HCR 56’s shortcomings, add a ton of value to the loadout, and are the most efficient, particularly in Warzone 2.0, will take priority.

  • Basic Perks: Overkill and Double Time
  • Bonus Perk: Fast Hands
  • Ultimate Perk: Ghost

Best Secondary Weapon

With the aid of Overkill, I can now carry an additional primary weapon, giving me more variety and firepower. Since the HCR 56 dominates the long-range gunfights, we’ll be looking at guns that can take care of either mid-range or close-range battles. Choosing one out of these 2 options depends upon your preference and playstyle, so choose your weapon wisely!

Mid-Range: MX-9

As my mid-range option, no other SMG does the job better than the MX-9. This weapon excels in Mobility, handling, and recoil control, making it one of the best SMGs for Warzone 2.0. Since you’ll be doing a lot of running around, you need to carry a relatively lightweight weapon. This is where the MX-9 comes into play, providing great moving and ADS speed to hunt enemies and quickly get to cover.

Additionally, this gun is also easy to use and ideal for mid-range combat thanks to its accuracy and stability. You can keep a steady target on hostiles and take them down instantly with the MX-9’s quick firing rate.

To make this weapon even more stable and reliable, I recommend the following attachments to go along with it:

  • Barrel: 5” STB Factory
  • Muzzle: SA Schalldampfer 99
  • Magazine: 32-Round Mag
  • Comb: FTAC C11 Riser
  • Laser: VLK LZR 7MW

With these attachments, the mobility, accuracy, and time-to-kill of the MX-9 are massively improved. Overall, this makes the MX-9 a powerful gun for 30 to 45-meter engagements and one of the best guns along with the HCR 56 as the loadout in Call of Duty Warzone 2.0.

Close-Range: Bryson 800

If you’re looking for a close-range monster, the Bryson 800 is for you. This is a tanky pump-action shotgun with insane damage output, mobility, and handling. With one direct shot, you can instantly down your enemy and send them to the Gulag with another.

Compared to other shotguns, the Bryson has a decent range as well, so you don’t need to improve that aspect of it.

Apart from that, I’ve focused on its accuracy and stability with the following attachments:

  • Muzzle: SA Schweigen DX
  • Barrel: 29.5” Rifled Barrel
  • Optic: XTEN Angel-40
  • Guard: Demo X50 Tactical Pump
  • Ammunition: 12 Gauge Explosive

The Bryson 800 is reliant on accuracy for quick kills. This is why these attachments make the weapon more precise and reliable. With the added explosive shots, the damage output is also bumped up, ultimately making the Bryson 800 one of the best shotguns in Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 for close-range encounters and a great addition to my HCR 56 loadout.

Best Tactical And Lethal Equipment

Tactical and Lethal equipment plays a major role in Call of Duty Warzone 2.0, such as giving info regarding enemies and an alternative damage source. Since they don’t help much with firepower, the best equipment is determined by how well it works with Warzone 2.0’s environment and gives me the strategic upper hand in most circumstances.

Tactical: Heartbeat Sensor

No other equipment gives you a better tactical advantage than a Heartbeat Sensor. This sensor acts like a radar, revealing enemy locations up to 50 meters away in the direction you point it. This is a handy piece of equipment that prevents an ambush as you’re moving around the map and a great way to clear out campers inside rooms and in the open.

However, bear in mind that, unlike the previous Call of Duty games, the Heartbeat Sensor now comes with a battery, so it will eventually run out as you use it.

Lethal: Claymore

For the lethal equipment, the claymore is my best option as it offers several benefits. You can plant it anywhere on the ground, and if an enemy comes close to it, it immediately explodes, dealing massive damage to the enemy and likely downing them. Since this claymore is considerably small, most enemies won’t even see it, and that means an easy kill for you. Therefore, it’s better to plant it near a door where enemies won’t notice it.

My Take On HCR 56

My Steam Profile

LMGs are a unique class in the game, and they’re individually unique as well. Therefore, each weapon is suited to a specific playstyle, making each player’s experience with that weapon different. Personally, I like to use the weapon when I feel like being offensive as the weapon never disappoints in intense situations.

As such, you should try out different combinations and loadouts to see which one you prefer! If you’re looking for other long-range weapons, here’s a guide on the best marksman rifles in COD Warzone 2.0.
