Many Diablo 4 players have been facing an issue where the first-world boss, Ashava, would stop spawning at the correct time. Several unrelated things can cause this, including your game not being appropriately updated or some server and internet-related issues. For most, the causes are usually a daylight savings misunderstanding or an actual glitch present. Don’t worry, however, as I discuss all these causes, including their solutions.
Follow these methods to fix the problem:
- Calculate the right Daylight Savings Timing.
- Update your Game.
- Improve your Internet Connection.
Understand The Exact Spawn Times
The most frequent reason causing the World Boss to not spawn is confusion in time zones or players not knowing that Diablo 4 does not consider daylight savings time. First, you must understand that this boss is a scheduled event, and it will only spawn at 11 AM, 1 PM, 11 PM, and 1 AM, all in the PDT time zone.
These timings do not change depending on your time zone. Additionally, these time zones do not consider daylight savings, which can cause the World Boss to spawn an hour later than scheduled. To confirm that this is not the reason behind your issue, double-check the spawn times for the World Boss.
Additionally, try queuing up for it an hour later than the scheduled time, and make sure your date/time region is correct. A great way to keep track of the World Boss is through the in-game notification prompt you get before he spawns. The notification will give you a 30-minute heads-up and a countdown until Ashava finally appears.
Update Your Game
If the World Boss still does not spawn despite you appearing at the right time, then you have likely encountered the actual glitch in Diablo 4. What this glitch does is that it sometimes makes the countdown notification disappear, leaving the players clueless. Fortunately, the global community development director of Diablo 4, Adam Fletcher, notified the community via Twitter that the team was aware of the glitch and working on fixing it.

Since then, a hotfix patch has addressed many issues, including this glitch. So, I highly recommend you update your game and check for the world boss again.
Ensure Your Internet Connection Is Strong Enough
If the World Boss still isn’t spawning for you after the above methods, then a weak connection might be at play here. If you are on WiFi, immediately switch to an Ethernet connection. Doing so will keep your ping consistent, with little to no packet loss, and allow you to utilize your maximum bandwidth.
Other than this, you can also try increasing your bandwidth by contacting your ISP. I would especially recommend this if you are a heavy bandwidth user. However, generally speaking, an upgrade would only be noticeable if your download and upload speeds are less than 10Mbps.
Contact Blizzard’s Customer Support
If you have come this far into the article without a solution, then the last resort I recommend is to contact Blizzard Support. You can do this by going to the official web page and then clicking the type of issue you have. It will then take you to a new page where you log in to your Blizzard account and then contact the support team.
A more direct approach you can take is to tweet Adam Fletcher directly on Twitter. He is always happy to address any issues a player might have and is always diligently working towards making your gameplay experience better.
What I Think
Almost everyone who tried to play Diablo 4 on launch encountered the world boss not spawning issue. The issue was frankly widespread as countless threads were opened by players on both Reddit and Blizzard Forums.
People should be seeing in-game notifications now about Ashava spawning on the hour.

Since then, the developers have made several statements and officially fixed the issue through updates before release. However, as explained in the first method, messing up the spawn times is extremely easy. It is the core reason why most people get this issue. But, hey, being unorganized isn’t a crime. Right?
You screwed up daylight savings, didn't ya? :)
So next spawn also an hour later?
