- Why I Chose This: The Black Suit is not just visually pleasing but also provides efficient healing and glide ability, increases physical power, and has large and strong tendrils.
Peter’s Symbiote Suit is not only a visual masterpiece, but it is the only suit in Spider-Man 2 that comes with a completely different moveset and new abilities, including skills. You will basically unlock the suit automatically by playing through the Good Men main mission, which happens in mid-game. Aside from its striking design, this suit brings a whole set of Symbiote abilities.
- Significantly increases the striking range with large tendrils.
- Provides increased physical abilities and regeneration.
- Obtained during mid-game after completing story mission.
2. Best There Is Suit (Miles)
- Why I Chose This: The Best There Is Suit has an iconic look with 4 different styles and is a gift for Wolverine fans.
In addition to being a direct reference to Insomniac’s next main project, which is a video game adaptation of Wolverine, this suit also has a sick design and can be considered the best one for Miles. As a Wolverine fan, I have additional appreciation for the Best There Is Suit in Spider-Man 2. The only downside to unlocking it is that the level requirement is really high and is obtained during the end game.
- The Best There Is Suit can be crafted once you reach level 52 in Spider-Man 2.
- You will also need to collect 105 Tech Parts and 7 City Tokens.
- Comes in four different styles.
- Gives a glimpse of the possibilities in the upcoming Wolverine game.
- Obtained essentially during the end game.
- Needs level and material farming to obtain.
3. Miles Morales 2020 Suit (Miles)
- Why I Chose This: Miles Morales 2020 Suit can be adjusted according to one’s liking with its four different styles and provides a cool and futuristic look.
The 2020 Suit is probably one of the most cool-looking suits for Miles Morales. The visually pleasing RGB effects of the spider logo and the lens embedded on the glass panels of the suit make Miles look like he’s from 2099 and not 2020.
- You’ll need to reach level 19 to unlock the suit for crafting.
- Then, you can craft the suit using 45 Tech Parts and 3 City Tokens.
- Gives a futuristic look to Miles and comes with 4 styles.
- Needs extensive grind to craft.
4. Into The Spider-Verse Noir Suit (Peter)
- Why I Chose This: Into The Spider-Verse Noir Suit is just tailor-made for fans as it’s a splendid throwback to the movie with its classic design and animations.
I am personally a huge fan of Spider-Verse movies, and seeing suits from the movies in Insomniac’s latest Superhero adventure really woke up the fanboy inside me. The Noir Suit not only gives Peter that detective look, but its purchase also unlocks the movie animation style for Peter and Miles.
- Level 22 is needed to be reached if you want to unlock the Noir Suit.
- It can be crafted using 50 Tech Parts and 4 City Tokens.
- Gives nostalgic feelings of Into the Spider-Verse movie.
- Unlocks movie animations for both Peter and Miles.
- Needs level 22 and considerable farming.
5. Into The Spider-Verse Suit (Miles)
- Why I Chose This: Into The Spider-Verse Suit is another nostalgic suit for Miles and also comes with special movie animations and sound effects.
Just like the Spider-Verse Noir Suit for Peter, Miles gets his own Spider-Verse version, and it’s actually a revamped design from the Miles Morales spin-off title that launched after Spider-Man 2018. It comes with the same animation style as the movies, and you’ll feel the jarring frame rates using the suit.
- At level 30, you can craft the suit using 60 Tech Parts and 2 Hero Tokens.
- Nostalgic suit of Into the Spider-Verse movie for Miles.
- Modifies the usual animations and SFX to match the movie.
- Reaching level 30 is a difficult task.
6. Spider-Man 2099 Black Suit (Peter)
- Why I Chose This: Spider-Man 2099 Black Suit has the power of Low Gravity, which decreases gravity and thus increases air time.
The Spider-Man 2099 version actually got really famous after Miguel O’Hara’s character debut in the latest Spider-Verse movie. Nevertheless, the 2099 Suit for Peter has a unique design, and almost all of its styles look cool.
- You’ll need to get to level 11 in order to unlock the 2099 Suit for crafting.
- Additionally, 35 Tech Parts and 2 Rare Tech Parts are needed to craft the suit.
- Comes with a unique skill of Low Gravity.
- Lets you embody the iconic Spider-Man 2099.
- Needs farming of Tech Parts and rare items.
7. T.R.A.C.K. Suit (Miles)
- Why I Chose This: Time Response Activated Circuit Kinetic Suit or simply the T.R.A.C.K suit grants Untrackable suit mod which reduces the dmg of ranged attacks by 25%.
In my opinion, the black style of the T.R.A.C.K. Suit looks much better than the default suit that Miles starts in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. This suit was also present in the Miles Morales title by Insomniac Games and looks just as good in Spider-Man 2 with the newly added styles.
- At level 3, you can craft the suit using 20 Tech Parts and 1 City Token.
- Visor mod decreases ranged attack DMG taken by 25%.
- The visor mod is specific only to this suit.
8. Webbed Black Suit (Peter)
- Why I Chose This: The Webbed Black Suit is a treat for Spider-Man 3 fans as it is designed the same as it was in the movie.
I’m sure almost every Spider-Man fan is also a Sam Raimi fan, which is why you’ll love the Webbed Black Suit, which is the Symbiote Peter’s design from the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movie. Thankfully, Insomniac stayed faithful to the source material and added the exact replica of the suit.
- The Webbed Black Suit becomes available for crafting at Level 31.
- You’ll need 65 Tech Parts and 2 Rare Tech Parts to make the suit.
- The suit takes you back to the Spider-Man 3 era.
- Requires level 31 and Tech Parts farming.
9. Brooklyn 2099 Suit (Miles)
- Why I Chose This: The Brooklyn 2099 Suit makes an appearance in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 only and is one of the best-looking suits for Miles in the game.
The Brooklyn 2099 Suit design might not be as striking as Peter’s 2099 Suit, but it is still colorful and comes with unique trousers. You can even change the color of the logos using various styles, and blue has become my personal favorite.
- You’ll need to reach level 7 to unlock the suit for crafting.
- You can craft the suit using 30 Tech Parts and 1 Hero Token.
- The suit is unique as it only appears in this game.
- The green and orange styles don’t look as good as the first two.
10. Secret Wars: Civil War Suit (Peter)
- Why I Chose This: Secret Wars: Civil Wars Suit gives military attire to your character and also makes the first appearance in a game, being a comic-only before.
This is a famous comic book suit design that has finally been made into a playable Spider-Man title. Additionally, it gives Peter that soldier look that almost no other suit is able to achieve. Peter really looks like he is going to war instead of saving Marvel’s New York.
- Level 28 is needed to unlock the Noir Suit.
- It can then be crafted using 60 Tech Parts and 2 Rare Tech Parts.
- This is the debut appearance of the suit in a video game.
- Needs a high level and Tech Part grind.
11. Into The Spider-Verse SB Suit (Miles)
- Why I Chose This: Into The Spider-Verse SB Suit is a good throwback to the Into The Spider-Verse Movie and gives a comical touch to deep story moments.
The suit makes Miles look like a complete rookie who just activated his spider powers. I really liked the SB Suit’s design in the movie, and it’s still just as good in Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2. The funny-looking cape just adds to the overall goofy design of the SB Suit.
- At level 33, you can craft the suit using 70 Tech Parts and 5 City Tokens.
- A funny but meaningful reminder of the hero’s origins.
- Obtained in mid-game and needs tedious level farming.
12. Scarlet Spider Suit (Peter)
- Why I Chose This: The Scarlet Spider Suit has a classical yet stylish design; first appeared in the Web of Spider-Man #118. Four different styles further act as icing on the cake.
It has a simple design but one that you will also never forget after getting a single glimpse. Staying true to its comic version, the Scarlet Spider Suit for Peter has that unique belt paired with a hoodie that makes the suit stand out among all others.
- It is relatively easy to unlock, as you can craft it at level 14.
- The materials that you’ll need include 40 Tech Parts and 2 City Tokens.
- A reference to Ben Reilly’s Scarlet Spider costume in the comic.
- Tech Parts and level farming can be a bit of a problem.
13. Shadow-Spider Suit (Miles)
- Why I Chose This: Shadow Spider Suit was easily obtained through pre-order and makes Miles appear like Batman.
If you ever wanted Miles to resemble Batman while he’s out there fighting crime in New York, then equip the Shadow Spider Suit. It almost makes Miles look like he’s the Student of Bruce Wayne and not Peter Parker. All of the additional styles also look really good on this suit.
- You can craft the Shadow-Spider Suit at level 18.
- It will need 45 Tech Parts and 3 City Tokens.
- The Shadow-Spider Suit was also included as a pre-order bonus for Spider-Man 2.
- Can be obtained right away through pre-order.
- Design and style create a Batman-like aesthetic.
- Needs Tech Parts and City Tokens farming.
14. Amazing 2 Suit (Peter)
- Why I Chose This: Amazing 2 Suit, as the name suggests, is a throwback to The Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie and is simple yet iconic.
Another suit from a live-action Spider-Man movie makes its way into Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. As a Spider-Man fan, it always hypes me up to play as my favorite comic book and movie versions of the same characters, and the Amazing 2 Suit just adds to that feeling.
- After reaching level 9, you can craft the Amazing 2 Suit.
- You will also need to collect 35 Tech Parts and 1 City Token first.
- A nostalgic nod to the Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie.
- Requires level 9 and 35 Tech Parts.
15. Purple Reign Suit (Miles)
- Why I Chose This: Purple Reign Suit is inspired by Aaron Davis’ Prowler suit and unlocks suit mod Reclaimer which replenishes 1 gadget ammo.
Miles can look more like his Uncle Aaron by wearing the Purple Reign Suit, which almost resembles the Prowler’s costume. The green spider logo with the overall purple tone of the suit really makes Miles stand out even whilst swinging across New York.
- It becomes available during mid-game when you reach level 21.
- You will also need to get your hands on 45 Tech Parts and 2 Hero Tokens to make the suit.
- Reclaimer gives extra gadget ammo during melee stealth.
- Obtained in mid-game and needs material farming.
16. Arachknight Suit (Peter)
- Why I Chose This: Arachknight Suit was offered as a bonus suit in pre-order and gives Peter a MoonKnight-like appearance, especially the white variant.
Like Miles’ Shadow Spider Suit, Peter can also embrace his inner MoonKnight by wearing the Arachknight Suit. Not only does the suit make Peter look like an assassin who works from the shadows, but it also gives him a cape. Personally, I like the white style of this suit.
- At level 20, you can craft the Arachknight Suit using 45 Tech Parts and 3 City Tokens.
- The Arachknight Suit was also included in the pre-order bonuses for Spider-Man 2, as mentioned by Insomniac in this tweet.
- Obtained early through pre-order.
- Gives a Moon Knight-esque appearance to Peter.
- Obtained at level 20 and needs significant grind.
17. Sportswear Suit (Miles)
- Why I Chose This: The Sportswear Suit displays the start of Miles’ superhero career as this was the suit he used at that time.
The Sportswear Suit is a straight reference to the beginning of the Miles Morales game by Insomniac. You start out by wearing the unofficial suit, which consists of a jacket and shorts. This was Miles’ main outfit until Peter gifted him a proper suit.
- You can craft the Sportswear Suit early on by reaching level 10.
- Lastly, you will also need to grab 35 Tech Parts and 2 City Tokens.
- Reference to the first suit Miles used as a superhero.
- Tech Parts and City Tokens can be difficult to farm.
18. Homemade Suit (Peter)
- Why I Chose This: Homemade Suit is a reference to different movies like Captain America: Civil War and Spider-Man: Homecoming; it was the first suit Peter used.
Spider-Man Homecoming featured the appearance of the Homemade Suit, which the rookie Peter Parker used before Iron Man made him a proper suit. The goofy design of the Homemade Suit can now be equipped and used while traversing in Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2.
- At level 23, you can craft the suit using 50 Tech Parts and 4 City Tokens.
- Pays homage to the superhero’s early days.
- Obtained mid-game and requires tedious farming.
My Thoughts On Suits
I really like each and every suit in Spider-Man 2, and that goes for both Peter and Miles. Each and every suit is either a reference to a comic book design or a faithful adaptation from the various movies. It is a dream come true for a Spider-Man fan where you can swing as your favorite version of the character, I also think that Miles received better suits overall when compared to Peter.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a direct sequel to Spider-Man 2018 and offers all new features to the player in a bigger New York City. You can play as both Peter and Miles, and there are even more interesting characters in the story. The trophies and achievements aren’t difficult, and you can easily get the Platinum. Spider-Man 2 also comes in various editions, each with a different bonus.
