Dead Take is now available on PC, launching with a 10% discount to sweeten the deal for early adopters. The game is already making waves, earning strong praise from critics, with an impressive 80 Top Critic Average on OpenCritic at the time of writing. With its bold approach to storytelling and lean design, the game has carved out a niche that resonates with players looking for something off the beaten path.
Dead Take deviates from the typical video game experience by blurring the lines between a film-like narrative and traditional gameplay. Rather than relying on conventional storytelling or sprawling gameplay loops, Dead Take opts for a more focused, film-inspired structure. It does a good job of presenting its puzzles as a plot device that is more than just obstacles.

The game doesn’t hold back when it comes to talent, boasting performances from some of the industry’s most recognizable faces, Neil Newbon and Ben Starr. For the uninitiated, Newbon is best known as Astarion in Baldur’s Gate 3, while Starr as Clive Rosfield in Final Fantasy XVI. Dead Take also features a lineup of cameos from Matthew Mercer, Alanah Pearce, Jason Perry, Travis Willingham, Sam Lake, Laura Bailey, and CDawgVA.
It’s so cool to get to see Neil and Ben’s actual faces as they act. They are such talented actors in the games space, so it was a unique opportunity to see them as actors being and looking like actors.” says Creative Director Abubakar Salim.
The introductory offer is valid until August 14, 2025, leaving players with a good two weeks to take advantage of this discount.
