Remedy Issues Update On Alan Wake 2’s Audio Delay Issues

Work on resolving the problem continues.

Story Highlights

  • Alan Wake 2 has been a true frontrunner in the 2023 survival horror category, alongside Resident Evil 4.
  • The game, however, hasn’t been without its fair share of issues, including audio delay on Xbox consoles.
  • Remedy has issued an update on that front, saying that work continues to resolve this persisting issue.

Alan Wake 2’s significance in the survival horror genre knows no bounds, as the Game of the Year nominee sent shockwaves across the industry for its flat-out high quality and overall game design. However, the third-person shooter isn’t exempt from its fair share of issues, including an audio delay hassle that has been plaguing Xbox players for a while now. Remedy reaffirms that it’s working toward a fix at present.

We would like to assure players who have encountered audio delay on Xbox consoles that the Alan Wake 2 development team is aware of the issues and continues to work on resolving them,” says Remedy in a new post on X.

The earliest reports of this issue happen to date back to 3 months ago at the time of writing, so Remedy sure did take its time addressing the matter for concerned Xbox players. As the news found itself circulating over to Reddit, many shared similar thoughts, with one u/OleBoyBuckets saying, “Game was fantastic but it’s funny they announce this 3 months after most people who were interested already played.”

Can we please get a fix for these lip syncing issues. They’re immersion breaking tbh.

In addition to the update issued above, another problem seems to be hassling Alan Wake 2 players across the globe, and it pops right up when you attempt to examine a certain item in-game. “The development team is currently working on a hotfix. We’ll keep you updated on our progress. Thanks for your patience!” says Remedy in response to player reports.

On a side note, eXputer recently sat down with Sam Lake for an email Q&A session, asking some of the burning questions that we had in relation to Alan Wake 2. One of the more interesting parts of the conversation is Sam teasing the possibility of being able to control characters other than Alan and Saga in the forthcoming DLC expansion(s), saying the following,

We have a growing number of interesting characters populating our universe. And we are excited to look for opportunities to give them more focus and interesting stories to tell. More details on the DLCs are coming for sure in the coming months.”

Alan Wake 2 was released on October 27, 2023, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with no cross-gen support for old-gen platforms. eXputer’s 5/5 review of the thriller holds it in high regard, with author Huzaifah Durrani calling it “not only the best possible sequel fans could have hoped for” but “also an incredible survival horror game in its own right.”
