Call Of Duty: Warzone Patch Addresses OP Snakeshot Ammunition

Another one to be nerfed.

Story Highlights

  • New Call of Duty: Warzone Patch disables the use of Snakeshot Ammunition on Tyr Handgun.
  • It was removed as it was way too overpowered and made matches unfair.
  • Raven Software is working to fix the issue permanently, as they released a temporary fix.

Raven Software released a new quick patch for Call of Duty: Warzone. The hotfix removes the usability of Snakeshot ammunition for the Tyr Handgun. Players will not be able to use it in public playlists; however, it will be accessible in the Gunsmith. The developers have removed the overpowered ammunition for now till they work on a permanent fix to make it more balanced with other weapons available in the title.

Apparently, the developers had to make this decision due to the “overwhelming strength” of the Snakeshot ammunition on Tyr Handgun. Raven Software claimed that it didn’t come out as they envisioned. It lowers the engagement of matches as many players are unable to counter this strong combination.

The developers assured fans that they are working to improve it in future updates. It will be balanced out with other available weapons in the entry. Raven Software wanted to address the issue quickly because they wanted players to have a joyful holiday season while participating in matches. So, they decided to release the temporary hotfix

The decision received mixed responses from players; some appreciated the decision and appreciated Raven Software for fixing the issue quickly and thanked them for preventing many losses. At the same time, others criticized Raven Software for removing the strong Snakeshot ammunition combo with the Tyr Handgun. They blamed the skills of other players and requested the developers to bring it back.

Call Of Duty: Warzone is a live service game, which means that the developers are constantly working to improve it. It receives new patches regularly balancing various weapons, so it might not take long till they fix the issue permanently. For now, however, you can try out other weapons in the entry during public matches. Also, check out Asad Ahmed’s review on Warzone 2 to learn more about the sequel entry.
