Spanish Ad Reveals “Free Trial” For Cyberpunk 2077 On Next-Gen Consoles
An ad for the game reveals a downloadable demo on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S you can play before buying.
Cyberpunk 2077 was a massive let-down for players in 2020. The game, which promised to be an RPG like no other, was a huge disappointment. The game had severe performance issues, especially on consoles. These bugs were so bad that Sony removed the game from the PlayStation Store for seven months. In short, the release of Cyberpunk was a total mess. Recently the game has come back on consoles, and a next-gen release is on the horizon. An ad for the game might reveal CD Projekt Red‘s new strategy to attract console players.
A now-deleted Spanish ad for Cyberpunk 2077 reveals a game’s demo version. This demo is downloadable on the PS5 and the Xbox Series X|S. The ad shows a “Free trial version” of the game and a “now available” button redirecting to the official page. There isn’t any additional information on the page as of yet. Keep in mind that 3D Juegos is a trusted magazine and website in Spain.
This demo version is a unique find because no previous version has had a demo. AAA games also rarely get demos on any platform. So, this is an innovation by CD Projekt Red to try and bring console players onboard again.
The players will be able to play Cyberpunk before buying through this demo. So, it’s a great way to prove that the game is not a jumbled mess anymore. If players can try it out on consoles beforehand, they can manage expectations before buying.
CD Projekt Red also faced some lawsuits about the console release of Cyberpunk. The publisher had to pay $1.8 million for downplaying the vast problems with the game before release. To sum up, they paid a hefty amount for giving a wrong notion about Cyberpunk on consoles. So, a free demo will also prevent this situation from happening again.
According to this information, Cyberpunk 2077 is releasing very soon on the PS5 and the Xbox Series X|S. This is also made further evident as an alternate cover for the game was leaked a while back. CDPR has also announced a stream to disclose new information for Cyberpunk 2077. They might announce the next-gen version on stream since there have been tons of leaks and news about that.

To further back up this claim, Tom Warren revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 was showing as “optimized for Xbox Series X|S” before the CDPR stream. The company even replied with a sarcastic gif which caused fans to believe that this truly was the case.
