Patch is set to go live on August 8, 2023, for all platforms.

Story Highlights

  • Patch notes for Diablo 4 update 1.1.1 have been released; the update is set to go live on August 8, 2023.
  • The upcoming update implements detailed adjustments for various classes and game systems, increasing drop chances for Legendary items and tweaking the health values of bosses.

Blizzard has revealed the full patch notes for v1.1.1 of Diablo 4, adjusting some metrics for the Sorcerer and Barbarian classes. Additionally, the new patch also gives a 100% drop chance to level 35 and higher boss monsters for Legendary items. This update, set to go live on August 8, follows the previous patch that was met with severe criticism for various reasons.

In addition to increasing late-game survivability for Sorcerer, patch 1.1.1 for Diablo 4 will strengthen builds that aren’t reaching a high power level. It also aims to diversify the use cases for Legendary items and other effects that are overly situational. Aside from Barbarian and Sorcerer, Rogue, Druid, and Necromancer will also be adjusted.

Moving on, Blizzard plans to increase monster density in Nightmare Dungeons and Helltide. The latest patch notes elaborate further, stating that bosses above Level 60 will have more health. Levels 80, 100, 120, and 150 will see an increase of 50%, 100%, 120%, and 150% respectively. Specific metrics for bosses and events, in general, will also be tweaked in update 1.1.1 of Diablo 4.

Aside from the aforementioned increase in drop chance, Blizzard will make some other changes too. Treasure Goblins now have an increased Legendary item drop chance from level 6-14 and guarantee an item drop starting at level 15. Furthermore, Legion Events are now more rewarding and guarantee a legendary drop starting at level 35.

Other changes also accompany the adjustments mentioned above. Multiple improvements will be made to the interaction between damage, effects, and active barriers. Bonus damage or bonus effects that are applied on-hit or when dealing damage will now apply that same effect through barriers. Additionally, The cost of refunding Skill & Paragon Points has been reduced. The reduction starts small at lower Levels & maxes out at level 100.

Bug Fixes In Diablo 4 v1.1.1

Diablo 4 will receive a wide array of bug fixes in addition to content tweaks once the latest update goes live. Blizzard will add Screen Reader support for reading class icons. An issue where the Screen Reader wouldn’t read out capitalized, accented letters, or special characters will also be addressed. Several problems in cooperative play and dungeons are also being patched.

Co-op issues such as progression blocks in the Final Straw quest and activation problems with Points of Interest will be resolved. In addition, discrepancies where using a Town Portal while entering a dungeon would cause both players to get stuck & a player engaged in conversation with an NPC would see a black screen if another player in their party teleported away will be ironed out.

Furthermore, an issue where progression in the Seaside Decent Dungeon could be blocked when the Butcher or a Treasure Goblin spawned behind the barrier will be addressed. Other problems such as errors where the Reset Dungeon button often malfunctioned and being able to damage the boss in Den of the Blighted through the fog wall no longer exist in Diablo 4 once patch 1.1.1 goes live.

Class-related discrepancies will be resolved in the upcoming update as well. Barbarian’s issues such as Lunging Strike causing the player to get stuck under the ground & the Aspect of Berserk Ripping not inflicting targets with bleed when activated will be fixed. Similarly, fixes for Sorcerer, Rogue, Druid, and Necromancer will be implemented as well.

Beyond all the content balancing and bug fixes, other aspects of Diablo 4 have also been fine-tuned. User Interface errors such as incorrect tooltips for Battlepass emotes, the timer for Whispers displaying incorrectly, and various localization issues will be hammered out with update v1.1.1.

Diablo 4 is out now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC, and last-gen consoles.
