Well, that didn’t take too long. Dune: Awakening is an anticipated MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online) title by veteran developer, Funcom. Ahead of the game’s official release, which is yet to be announced, the game has suffered from a gameplay leak that showcases some in-game screenshots, including that of its world, user interface, and character creator.

The graphics seem neat, I’ll have to admit, and according to the Redditor — u/SnooOranges3876 — who claims to have leaked these screenshots, the “devs and a few testers have already spent more than 400 hours in the game.”

Apparently, fans really don’t like what they see, considering that the developer of the project is the same as the one that worked on multiple Conan games. One of them, in particular, is Conan Exiles, which is yet another online multiplayer survival game that has been panned for its server issues over time.

Folks are concerned that Dune: Awakening is nothing but a reskin of that title, but honestly, it’s not wise going down that pessimistic route this early on.

Dune: Awakening Sure Looks Promising, Considering It’s In UE5

Over a month ago, Funcom showed off an extended look at its upcoming game, taking us on a dive into Dune: Awakening’s lore, premise, and some gameplay mechanics. There’s even a sequence in there that showcases aerial combat, so one can easily presume the scale at which this title will be based on.
