- The patch 1.10 is the first Elden Ring patch in the last four months.
- The latest patch focuses mostly on PvP-exclusive changes.
- The update buffs critical hits, increasing the damage dealt and reducing the recovery time after the player misses landing one.
Bandai Namco just dropped Elden Ring’s patch 1.10, which brings multiple changes to the PvP aspect of the open-world game. Notably, the update buffs critical hits as well as features several tweaks to how poise is handled in the game. The update will be rolled out on all platforms later today after a 3-hour maintenance period starting from 12 am PDT/3 am EDT, 8 am BST/9 am CEST.
For PvP exclusive tweaks, the update increases poise damage dealt by all weapons and some spells and incantations, as well as increasing the poise and reducing damage taken by the player when attacking with some weapons, skills, spells, and incantations that generate poise.
Overall, the damage reduction provided by some skills, items, and incantations has been reduced. Furthermore, the update also slightly nerfs Bloodhound’s Step and Quick Step skills, decreasing the invulnerability frames. Critical hit angles have also been extended, making it easier to land critical hits on other players.
Note that these changes are PvP-exclusive and won’t affect single-player or cooperative gameplay. As for the general changes, in other words, adjustments that do affect single-player and cooperative gameplay, as well as PvP, the update increases critical hit damage and decreases the recovery time after the player misses landing a critical hit. Additionally, the update also increases the poise damage of attacks after missing a critical hit.
The latest patch also fixes multiple bugs, including a bug that prevented some spells and incantations from causing damage while the player was under the effect of some other skills and items. FromSoftware has also fixed a bug that caused the effects of the Sacred Order skill to continue even after the player had switched weapons with the latest update.
It has been over a year since FromSoftware’s Elden Ring was released on February 25, 2022, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and Steam. The game is set to receive a massive DLC by the name of “Shadow of the Erdtree.” However, the release date of the DLC has not been announced yet, and it is likely that fans will have to wait a little more for additional game content.
