GTA 6 Possibly Hit With A Small Internal Delay, Earnings Call Hints

FY25 is expected to be the most plausible release window for the highly anticipated title.

Story Highlights

  • GTA 6 may have become a target of a small internal delay from what was initially expected for the game pipeline. It was hinted at in the latest earnings call session.
  • The increase in earnings was pushed towards the next FY from what it had been. Based on the tidbits, the analyst and the fans think there has been a slight delay.
  • We highly implore taking this rumor with a grain of salt. The most likely release window is FY25, somewhere before March or April 2025.

GTA 6 could have been hit by a small internal delay, at least from what was initially expected by the devs for the game pipeline. Spotted by the Reddit user u/wonderingandthinking on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours, the delay was implied in the new earnings call session at the 20-minute mark, then again somewhere around the 30-minute mark.

The expected growth in earnings was pushed to the next fiscal year from what it had been previously, suggesting that the title may have been delayed internally. We suggest taking the rumor with a big pinch of salt. Considering the points, the delay may have happened to some undisclosed extent. GTA 6 could come out before March/April 2025 if the rampant rumors are to be trusted. The worst-case scenario could be an early FY26 game release.

A major increase in high net bookings is expected for the fiscal year 2025. Take-Two assumes a little lower than $8 billion in FY25 net bookings. It’s quite a minuscule decrease from the initial expectations, which is said to have no effects. All these tidbits essentially mean that GTA 6 is still on track in the first quarter of 2025.

We leave the announcement of upcoming titles to our labels and we have said we have a very robust pipeline of titles and we have a great outlook for fiscal 2025 where we’ve reiterated our belief that we’ll generate about $8 billion in net bookings.”

The CEO clarifies that the company has not “spoken about the specific release schedule.” He also said that the conglomerate has titles coming from all of its labels. These hints further allude to the aforementioned release window for GTA 6. Rockstar Games has recently announced that it will reveal the trailer of the next GTA title in early December to celebrate its 25th anniversary. We may learn more about the release window via the trailer.
