Helldivers 2 Becomes February’s Highest-Grossing Game, Report Reveals

After topping a slew of milestones, Helldivers 2 has become February’s highest-grossing game. The games market research company Newzoo revealed the tidbit in a new report, which discussed the important statistics surrounding the third-person shooter. It deduced that the US and UK were the biggest contributors to the huge revenue stream of the game. 

That’s not all; players spent an average of 20.2 hours last month spreading managed democracy. It also became the sixth most-played shooter on PC and PS5 but ranked 15th outside its genre. Helldivers 2 was also quite popular online, with people spending over 21 million hours watching live streams across Twitch and YouTube last month. 

Helldivers 2 Has Continued To Surpass Everyone’s Expectations

Arrowhead Studios’ Magnum Opus has been incredibly well-received by the gaming industry. Many players flocked to it, causing servers to overload during the early days. Things have now stabilized for the entry, but the active player count and sales have only increased. An estimate by a prominent analyst earlier suggested that it has sold over 8 million copies. Likewise, it also became this year’s best-selling title in the USA.

Helldivers 2 was released to a highly positive reception on February 2, 2024, for the PS5 and PC. eXputer gave it a fantastic 4.5/5 review score, with the author Moiz Banoori describing the PvE shooter as “the best multiplayer game of 2024.” It was praised for the impeccable gunfights, gorgeous visuals, and a fun gameplay loop.
