Guerrilla Games’ Horizon IP has expanded into multiple sequels and an inventive spin-off ever since its inception. However, Sony wants to tap into the IP with its live service initiative by making an MMORPG. The rumored game has been in development by NCSoft, but details about it have stayed hidden from prying eyes so far. Now, the video games researcher @Kurakasis on Twitter has found a goldmine of info from sites’ new job listings.
Everything I have found about Horizon MMO (MMORPG to be precise):
The game is now essentially confirmed to be in development, as an NCSoft employee posted a job listing on LinkedIn with a codename logo stylized similarly to the logo of Horizon games.

Codenamed Project Skyline, the entry is now “essentially confirmed” to be in development, as a dev from NCSoft posted a job listing on LinkedIn with a codename logo that is similar in style to Horizon games. The development of Horizon MMORPG started in 2021, as per the employees’ resumes at NCSoft. A total of 140 devs are reportedly working on it. It is dubbed to be a huge number compared to the studio’s other projects.
The initial codename was Project H, which has since been changed. Kurakasis also previously discovered that NCSoft registered a domain for a new project. Dubbed “Land of Salvation,” it is rumored to be the official name of the title. While they are believed to be the exact games, the possibility of NCSoft working on two Horizon games does not seem that off the charts.
On December 5th, NCSoft registered a domain for a new project, potentially the previously reported Horizon MMO, titled
LAND OF SALVATION

The Horizon MMORPG is expected to launch significantly later than NCSoft’s other work, Aion 2, which has an expected arrival in late 2024 or 2025. NCSoft is developing Project Skyline in Unreal Engine 5 for PC and mobile.
Weirdly enough, there has been no word of a PlayStation 5 launch, which has confused the fans. Some have even called out the Twitter user for the bizarre circumstances. Kurakasis mentions that the game is likely not in dev for the PS5 at the given moment, but it does not suggest that it will not come out on the console when it releases or after some time elapses.

The collaboration between NCSoft and Guerrilla Games was discovered back in November 2022 by a Korean news site. The details also suggested that it was developing a Horizon Zero Dawn-based MMORPG with live-service elements. Nevertheless, we suggest taking the rumors of a new Horizon MMORPG with a grain of salt.
Another leak in the past also implied that Guerrilla Games was working on a separate multiplayer spin-off Horizon project, which is rumored to have a Fortnite-like art style and robots running amok. If the recent Insomniac Games leak surfacing Guerrilla Games data is correct, it could be named “Hunters Gathering.”
