Lords Of The Fallen Devs Announce No-Hit “Git Gud Challenge”

The prize pool for the top 3 winners is $5,000.

Story Highlights

  • Lords of the Fallen devs have announced a new “Git Gud” challenge for hardcore players.
  • The challenge revolves around a no-hit playthrough of the entire game and uploading that.
  • The prize pool of the contest is $5,000 and a total of 3 winners will be chosen on December 13.

Lords of the Fallen sure knows how to put up a challenge for even the most seasoned of players around, and this new contest announced by the devs is cranking things up to a new level. Taking to X (previously Twitter) to make the announcement, fans have the Git Gud Gauntlet to look forward to—a no-hit speedrun challenge that players have to record and then upload to this GG Talent Group handle.

The rules have also been laid out, and they are fairly strict. For starters, you have to record your playthrough either on Twitch via streaming or upload your recorded video to YouTube, unedited and uncut, that would begin right from the initial character creator and extend until any of the game’s endings. Furthermore, Hexworks has banned the use of the following items from the speedrun:

  • Corrupted Banner Javelin
  • Enhanced Cursed Effigy
  • Enhanced Forceburst Parchment
  • Enhanced GrenadeEnhanced Holy Grenade
  • Enhanced Lump Hammer
  • Enhanced Radiantburst Parchment
  • Umbral Eye of Loash

The contest is scheduled to run until December 13, so you have until then to submit an applicable video. Oh, and, feel free to upload multiple, since the official post on the website reads, “Players can upload as many runs as they complete over that time period. Their best hits taken/time will be scored.” In addition, although the prize pool is $5,000, the top 3 winners will each get distributions of this amount.

If you’re interested in participating, head over to the LOFT Official Rules post to acquire a better idea of what to be wary of when making your entry. Primarily, residents outside the US, Canada, the European Union, or the United Kingdom cannot participate, so if you’re situated in any other region, you’ll have to sit this one out, unfortunately.

As per the announcement, the event will be co-hosted by two popular no-hit speedrunners The Happy Hob and ZeroLenny. Speaking of no hits, your other job is to make sure that you beat the game in the fastest time possible, because “In the event of a tie in hit count, the winner will be the competitor with the lower in-game time.”

On a side note, CD Projekt Red seems to be hosting somewhat of a contest as well, but it’s of a much more lightweight nature. The Cyberpunk 2077 creator has announced Holiday Rewards for those willing to participate in fun tasks, thereby getting the chance to win exclusive Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk gifts from both the game and the anime.

Lords of the Fallen was released on October 13, 2023, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. eXputer reviewed the game and rated it 3.5/5, with Haris Umer saying, “[The game] is one of the better Soulslikes we’ve seen in a long time, but some design choices hold it back from true greatness.” If you’re a new player, consider checking these best Remembrance weapons in Lords of the Fallen for an upper hand.
