  • It will focus on some changes related to the gameplay, City, MyCareer, MyTeam, and MyNBA.

NBA 2K24 v1.2 patch notes have been revealed, and despite tackling several issues in the game, it fails to address the badge system. Although one of the developers confirmed that the badge system would be improved with live tweaking rather than only in significant updates, fans still find this update underwhelming. It is unclear when this update will go live, but a formal announcement should come via the community’s Discord server.

On the gameplay side, the issue causing physics to break when using controllable rim hands in some cases has been fixed. In the City, several fixes have been made to improve game stability. A stutter caused by playing games on the RISE affiliation courts has been resolved. Players will be able to join their friends in the Gatorade Rental Courts when using Social Menu.

Other than that, the Minimizer quest has been adjusted to allow all player types to complete it easily. A rare occurrence that caused a hang when loading into a MyCareer save has been fixed. A bug that blocked players from advancing to the second NBA season has been dealt with. The update fixes another hang that occurred when heading to the arena floor before NBA games.

Michael Jordan will no longer be passed on the GOAT tier list before winning your 7th championship. Players can only apply the same Floor Setter to one badge. Users should no longer suffer from issues when playing games after Triple Threat Online: Co-Op and should be able to select a lineup before entering. After this update, the difficulty level of Triple Threat Online: Co-Op against the CPU to Pro should be lowered.

In MyNBA, an issue that caused a hang in the Trade Finder menu when exiting and re-entering in some cases has been fixed. Another bug that caused the Warriors to get rebranded incorrectly when going into future seasons in MyNBA has also been addressed.

The badge system has been one of the biggest criticisms of NBA 2K24, causing some big YouTubers like Chris Smoove to speak on the matter. Although Timmerman has confirmed that these issues will be fixed with time and that players should report them whenever they pop up, we can’t expect anything major regarding the badge system in the upcoming update.

There are also other lag spikes and hang issues that players were hoping to see in the update, but so far, it doesn’t seem like they will be in this one. Even so, there is hope for it to be implemented in a future update before season 2, as the patch notes have confirmed there will be one, and it will be much bigger, spanning the entire game.

We are working quickly to resolve the most user-impacting issues being reported. Feedback from the community has been quick and clear; we thank you. The patch we will release prior to the launch of Season 2 will contain a much broader set of fixes and improvements spanning the entire game,” reads the developer note.
