Games take time to move up Xbox Charts
If Persona 5 hits Top 10 that's extremely strong for a JRPG on the Xbox Platform. Top 5-6 would be an amazing result if it can get there https://t.co/TwUorblhuJ
Persona 5 is sixth in one of the most popular JRPG series, Persona, which itself is part of the greater Mugen Tensei universe. The story of the game takes place in modern-day Tokyo, where a group of high school students, the Phantom Thieves of Hearts, use personas to confront criminals and reform their inner evil.
Personas are the physical form of their true inner nature.
Joker, the main protagonist of Persona 5 and the leader of the group, is a silent protagonist which is typical of the Persona series. The group first goes up against criminal organizations but soon discovers the corrupt nature of the government. They then have to face security officials and escape numerous capture attempts.
Persona 5 reaching 13th on the Xbox charts within a week of its launch is quite surprising. The game’s success is out of the ordinary as Japanese RPGs usually don’t do well on Xbox consoles and even if they do, their success takes time.
Persona 5 is set to enter the top 10 if it carries its success forward. It will no doubt be a remarkable feat for a JRPG. And it will give incentives to other Japanese developers to release games for Xbox. Which might help Xbox in increasing its user base in Japan.
Will the title be able to carry this momentum forward and hit the top 5 on the Xbox charts? Drop your opinions in the comments below.
