PlayStation’s Critics’ Choice Sale Brings Some Hefty Discounts

Talk about Ghost of Tsushima, Armored Core 6, and more.

Story Highlights

  • PlayStation is back at it again with a new promotion on its official storefront, bringing discounts.
  • Titled the “Critics’ Choice,” the new sale event cuts prices of some of the best PS games out there.
  • This promotional period will run until February 15; you’ve got until then to stretch your wallet.

After just finishing things up with its extended New Year sale, PlayStation has returned with another enticing promotion called “Critics’ Choice,” the details of which have been laid out in a separate blog post here. From what I can tell, over 400 titles have been discounted by a fair margin, and A-tier ones too, such as Armored Core 6, Fires of Rubicon, EA Sports FC 24, Mortal Kombat 1, Doom Eternal, and more.

Help kickstart your February gaming sessions in style with the Critics’ Choice promotion, in which acclaimed titles are the name of the game. You can enjoy discounts on a mixture of titles, which include Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon (30%), EA Sports FC 24 – Standard Edition (65% off), and many more,” iterates Zack Garvey, a Sony representative.

Some of the most mouth-watering deals that caught my attention from the promotion this time around include a 58% price cut on Ghost of Tsushima’s Director’s Cut Edition, which is currently $29.39 at the time of writing, enjoying about $40 off in relation to its MSRP. That one’s a fantastic game, I’ll tell you that, and if you haven’t played it before, you’re missing out big time

But it’s not just titles like those that the Critics’ Choice promotion has focused on at present; categories run diverse on the official PlayStation Store, and the sale event in question takes full notice of that. From action-adventure and RPG to single-player narrative-driven titles and indies, there’s something for everyone during this discount season. Here is a rundown of some of the titles you can expect to find on sale right now:

  • The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition
  • The Callisto Protocol
  • The Crew: Motorfest
  • Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (PS5)
  • Lords of the Fallen – Standard Edition
  • Ghostrunner 2
  • Ghostwire: Tokyo
  • God Eater 2 Rage Burst
  • God of War – Digital Deluxe Edition

On a side note, right at the very end of the blog post is information about another promotion that has been declared in the wake of Critics’ Choice, and it relates to PlayStation Plus—the company’s flagship subscription service comprising multiple tiers and a catalog of top-tier games. Evidently, an offer has been applied to the membership for those who join in for the first time.

From January 31 – February 11, players who join PlayStation Plus can get PS Plus Extra for the price of PS Plus Essential on a 12-month membership plan.”
