Story Highlights
- Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a brand-new platformer releasing later in January.
- The game’s PC specifications have been recently detailed by Ubisoft in a blog post.
- The Lost Crown’s graphics options for multiple platforms have also been unveiled.
Ubisoft is finally pushing out another Prince of Persia game, but I’ll be honest with you, it’s not what I — or many others for that matter — expected right out the gate. The “2.5D” action platformer is coming later in the month, but in the meantime, the developers have released more information about the PC specifications that the title requires from users. Have a look at it ahead.
The minimum requirements are fairly modest, and certainly won’t be breaking the bank. But, of course, the game itself is a side-scroller with cartoony graphics and not something decked out like the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake that Ubisoft is currently working on. To run The Lost Crown, 30 GB of SSD storage is a must as well, along with 8 GB RAM.
Furthermore, Ubisoft says that the game features uncapped framerate on PC, so if you’re packing the hardware, it’s easily possible to go beyond 120 FPS. For reference, here are the specs required if you plan on playing The Lost Crown at Ultra settings:
- CPU: Intel Core i7-6700 3.4 GHz, AMD Ryzen5 1600 3.2 GHz
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (6GB VRAM) or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT (8GB VRAM)
- RAM: 8GB (Dual-Channel Setup)
- Hard Disk Space: 30 GB
- DirectX Version: DirectX 11
- OS: Windows 10/11 (64-bit only)
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a fast-paced action-adventure that challenges players with a wide variety of lethal monsters and traps, most of which take speed and precision to conquer – which means that smooth, responsive performance is especially important. To that end, Sargon’s adventure through Mount Qaf will target at least 60 frames per second on all platforms,” reads the blog post detailing the specs requirement.
In addition to PC specifications, we now also know more about the game’s various playable modes on consoles. On the Switch, expect it to run at 720p at 60 FPS in Handheld mode, but in Docked, you’ll be able to get better performance out of the side-scroller. While both the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles can run the game at superior settings, their last-gen counterparts will lag just a bit behind in that regard.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is hitting shelves on January 18, 2024, for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. The game was announced during the Summer Games Fest about six months ago, where Ubisoft showed off some of its gameplay action. Another Prince of Persia title is in development, a remake of The Sands of Time, to be precise.
