Red Dead Redemption 2 is probably going down in history as one of the best story-driven games ever made, if not the best altogether. Rockstar’s open-world action-adventure was released about 5 years ago, but even today, it’s averaging around 73,000 players on Steam, which is fairly impressive for a story-based game. However, there is a good reason for the title’s sudden player boost, and that’s a 67% discount.
Those who’ve been meaning to grab the West-centric third-person shooter will find Steam’s current offering a blessing, which cuts down the game’s $44.99 MSRP to $14.84—pretty much a bargain at this price point. On the other hand, if you want to go all out, the Ultimate Edition also appears to be on sale, setting you back $22.49 instead of the regular $74.99.
For those not in the know, the Red Dead Redemption 2 Ultimate Edition comprises additional story content for you to immerse yourself into, including extra outfits, more weapons, missions, and other stuff to amplify your online experience. That said, bear in mind that the discounted offers are for a limited time only, and are set to last until November 28. That’s when the sale for Yakuza: Like a Dragon expires as well.

In terms of overall success, Rockstar recently announced that both of its juggernaut games GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 have reached sales milestones, with the former rolling over 5 million more units in the last quarter, and the latter clocking a total of 57 million copies to date. Although the next iteration in the legendary Grand Theft Auto series is coming, there has been no word on Red Dead 3 yet.
In other news, Rockstar is gearing up to release the trailer for the extremely anticipated GTA 6, with the developer saying that the first official look at the forthcoming title is dropping in early December. The game is rumored to feature “realistic animations” and could also comprise a radio channel in-game that would have podcasts from Joe Rogan, though there’s no official corroboration on that.
Red Dead Redemption 2 came out on October 26, 2018, for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a PC port arriving in 2019. If you’re a new player, here are all the gang hideouts in the game, followed by these best Red Dead 2 PC settings for the ultimate experience.
