Gunfire Games has released a major update for Remnant 2 on PC, adding a vast array of significant quality-of-life changes such as togglable aim & sprint and a new low graphics preset called Potato. The patch notes explain how the update aims to deliver on the feedback provided by the game’s playerbase. It’s also mentioned that the devs are planning on releasing another major QOL update in the near future.
One of the features added to Remnant 2 in this update is the support for PlayStation button icons when using a PlayStation controller on a PC. Additionally, when you turn off the aim assist while using a controller, it will turn off the aim adhesion as well. The devs have also explained that the inclusion of a togglable aim should prove helpful to those who have trouble constantly holding the button down.
Furthermore, Rigs can now downgrade Weapons, refunding 75% of materials used in upgrades and 50% of the scrap. In a similar fashion, the latest patch of Remnant 2 enables Dwell to downgrade Mutators, refunding the aforementioned percentages of materials and scrap. Consumable duration has also been added to the advanced stats page in the character menu.
With this patch of Remnant 2, several performance fixes have been and crash factor resolutions have been implemented as well. Some of these issues include Archon’s Chaos Gate and Havoc Form skills adversely impacting the game and the occurrence of lag hitches for hosts when picking up an item. In addition, the game’s performance has been improved on all stages of Annihilation Boss Fight.
With the addition of the Potato preset we previously mentioned, the devs have explained how the preset allows for low-end systems to more aggressively disable intense rendering features. This will help the players achieve higher frame rates and experience smoother gameplay. Moreover, the backend connection has been streamlined in order to provide a more consistent co-op outing with minimal disconnections while a player joins a game.
Remnant 2 QOL Update – Bug Fixes
Aside from the various QOL additions to Remnant 2, the latest patch also makes an effort to clear out a wide variety of bugs to provide a more polished experience. Gunfire Games has resolved many of the bugs related to progression blocks & achievements and this batch does more of the same. One of the rectifications involves the achievement “Maxed Out,” as it will now be rewarded properly when meeting the requirements.
Other issues that have been ironed out include the tutorial soft-lock that occurred while interacting with Rigs, incorrect objective assignments due to quitting various locations in the tutorial, only the player getting the final hit on a boss receiving progress towards the respective achievement in co-op, the Thaen fruit buff soft-lock, and Bloodmoon discrepancies.
