Supermassive Games Has Trademarked Five New Dark Pictures Games

The Dark Pictures games have been a great introduction to horror gaming. Their unique interactive style has made them famous among the fans of the genre. The three games already released have seen commercial success. Critics have also loved their fresh take on survival video games. So, it’s no surprise that Supermassive is making more of these games.

Supermassive Games has recently filed trademarks for five new games in The Dark Pictures series. The studio filed this new trademark on January 31. This recent filing contains the name and logos of the upcoming Dark Pictures games. The trademarks include

• The Dark Pictures: Directive 8020
• The Dark Pictures: Intercession
• The Dark Pictures: The Craven Men
• The Dark Pictures: Winterfold
• The Dark Pictures Presents: O Death

All these games and their logos are filed in Europe. This trademark tells us about the bright future of Dark Pictures. So many new games suggest that the series is exceeding expectations. The critic scores and sales also back up this claim.

The Anthology got its first release in 2019 with Man of Medan in 2019. The game earned critical acclaim and was a triumph commercially. Man of Medan sold 1 million copies after a year. The second game, called Little Hope, received similar praise. But, it didn’t perform as well due to the pandemic.

House of Ashes is the third game in the series. It brought the series back to life after the mediocre sales of Little Hope in the pandemic. The game got nominated for several awards and went down well with the players. It also sold in great numbers digitally. So, the series is doing great as of now.

A sequel to the House of Ashes is coming out this year. The Devil in Me is launching in 2022 and will follow up the events of the third game.
