Tekken 8 Alternate Character Outfits From The Upcoming Beta Test Have Leaked Online

The different costume choices for Paul finally deal with his new controversial hairstyle.

Story Highlights

  • All the Tekken 8 characters’ alternate outfits from the closed beta have leaked online. The modder Ultraboy has shared the vast assortment of costumes on Twitter.
  • The character outfits also seem to have solved the dilemma with Paul Phoenix’s hairstyle, giving him different choices that change his hair. The rest of the roster also looks stunning.
  • Tekken 8 is set to launch on Friday, January 26, 2024, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. The closed beta test will run from October 20 to October 23.

All the Tekken 8 characters have packed wardrobes full of alternate outfits to enhance their charm. The upcoming beta will feature most of these costumes. But like the usual norm in the gaming industry, all of the different outfits in the beta have already leaked online. The dataminer Ultraboy on Twitter has shared the outfits —most of which have not been shown officially— quenching some of our qualms with certain default character designs.

Kazuya’s alternate choices look especially striking, making him appear as menacing as possible both in a shirtless costume and a formal suit. Some nostalgic outfits are unfortunately not making a return in the Tekken 8 closed beta test, like Hwoarang’s open taekwondo outfit. Asuka is also missing her classic clothing, so players suspect that the final release of the game will feature an even wider selection of unique outfits.

The Tekken community was also in a bit of an uproar when the trailer for Paul Phoenix dropped; his hairstyle and design choice were causing quite a stir among some players. Regardless, the alternate costume outfits do solve that dilemma by giving him different hairstyles. There could be many characters whose default outfits were not aesthetic enough for some of us, but the varied choices come with various color schemes and changes.

The closed Tekken 8 beta test is scheduled from October 20 to October 23. It is set to bring more features than the closed network test, like cross-play for all platforms, battle matching and communication with other users in the Tekken Fight Lounge, and more. You can register for the closed beta test here if it piques your interest. Players are highly excited about the beta since the last closed network test has proven to be a huge success.

With the Tekken franchise recently climbing the 50 million sales threshold, Bandai Namco is seeking to push the boundaries of the Tekken entry with the upcoming sequel. The devs will bring a “full-package” experience to the table with some nostalgic features like the Tekken Ball mode. Additionally, Tekken 8 will incorporate a larger story mode than its predecessor.

Tekken 8 is slated to come out on Friday, January 26, 2024, for PC and the current-gen consoles, including the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. Unfortunately, we cannot expect to enjoy the entry on last-gen platforms, likely due to hardware limitations.
