Another week, another remarkable new update that keeps the fans and players content with Embark’s latest third-person shooter, The Finals. Update 1.6.0 has rolled out for the game, and it brings a specialized new solo event called Steal the Spotlight for users to dive into. That along with a ton of new balance changes and other fixes which better the overall experience for The Finals’ immense player base.
In this solo event, you enter the arena at night with a set build and loadout. Lights are out and cashout stations are guarded by turrets and tripwires, and the best path might just be the one you make yourself — so keep that RPG handy. Play STEAL THE SPOTLIGHT this week to unlock a dazzling cosmetic bundle, that will forever remind you of your time spent duking it out in the dark. For now, we’ll be removing Solo Bank It from the game.
Thank you so much to everyone who played this experimental mode and provided feedback! We learned so much and we look forward to bringing you more experimental modes in the future,” says Embark while confirming the removal of a previously added game mode.
You read the quote. The Finals patch 1.5 brought a brand-new game mode, a different take on its already-established Bank It called Solo Bank It, which, instead of having you team up with a squad, turns you into a lone warrior. As per Embark, this was a mere experiment, curated to receive feedback from the playing community. Solo Bank It’s job is now done, it seems, as the dev aspires to introduce new like-minded ways to play in the future.

As for the changes made, the overall patch has been received phenomenally by fans. Ever since the news found its way to Reddit, players have expressed the constant addition of meaningful chances to the FPS. One u/Starfishdude80 says, “Embark is quickly becoming my favorite game studio. They’re so quick with responding to the community and they ACTUALLY listen. This is so rare and needs to be cherished lads.”
The Finals came out on December 7, 2023, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, following numerous alpha and beta tests, both closed and open. eXputer reviewed the free-to-play shooter and rated it 4/5, with my colleague Asad Ahmed remarking, “The Finals has the potential to go toe-to-toe with the kings of the arena-shooter genre, but it has a ways to go until it gets to that level.”Here are the 5 best Specializations in The Finals, just in case you’re a new player looking for all the help you can get.
