The Finals Update 1.5.5 Balances The Revolver; Adds More Store Content

The Finals is a free-to-play shooter done right, being one of the very few live service shooters that are actually keeping their player base happy and content, all thanks to the consistent efforts of Embark Studios. The latest patch 1.5.5 for the game is now available, and it brings a variety of balance changes to better the gameplay experience across the board. Not just that, more Store content has seeped its way into The Finals with this update too. 

Today’s update comes with a number of balance changes for weapons and gadgets, including a decrease in the length of invulnerability after revival. We’ve also implemented crash fixes, and an adjustment to tournament matchmaking that will lead to tighter player skill-gap in tournaments. There is also a fix to the crossplay settings so it can be turned off successfully,” announces the patch notes of the update 1.5.5. 

One of the most noteworthy changes applied to the shooter pertains to the .357 Revolver, a handy sidearm that many The Finals players are keen on employing whenever the situation presents the opportunity. Following the arrival of the previous updatev.1.5.0 — players took notice that the .357 Revolver receiving a massive nerf.

As per the patch notes, the following changes have been made to the weapon, improving the stature of the firearm as compared to its previous standing. Users have already put this change in the spotlight over at the r/thefinals subreddit, iterating how the .357 Revolver is relatively more usable now with a decreased bullet spread. That said, it did receive a nerf in the damage range section, so you’re better off using the weapon in close-up situations. 

  • Decreased the amount of bullet dispersion applied when aiming down sights
  • Reduced damage fall-off start range to 23m from 35m
  • Reduced damage fall-off end range to 40m from 50m

Apart from the bug fixes and other adjustments that Embark has pushed out, there’s more Store content to look out for with this update, as revealed by the official update announcement video on YouTube. There’s a new melee weapon, more gun skins, and a fancy wearable for different classes that you can potentially purchase in-game.
