Necromunda: Hired Gun Developer Hiring For Unannounced FPS Project

Streum On Studio, the developer behind the 2021 first-person shooter, is working on an unannounced FPS project based on Unreal Engine 5, suggests recent job listing.

With the release of critically acclaimed games like E.Y.E.: Divine Cybermancy and Space Hulk: Deathwing, Streum On Studio has been a part of the video game industry for almost two decades now. In April 2021, the studio was acquired by Focus Entertainment and released its most recent first-person shooter in June 2021, Necromunda: Hired Gun. Since then, both companies have remained silent about what they could be working on. However, we now have some information as to what sort of a game the studio could be releasing next, and it seems to be a first-person shooter based on Unreal Engine 5.

Earlier today, we came across a recent job listing on the Focus Entertainment website for the Game Designer position at Streum On Studio’s Nogent-sur-Marne studio in Paris, France, the description for which reads (translated), “We are looking for a Game designer to complete the Game Design team on an unannounced FPS type project. As a Game Designer, you will work on the design, implementation and balance of game features. You will interact with different trades to propose solutions for improving gameplay. You will also be the point of contact with Focus Entertainment regarding Game Design. Based on this, it’s clear that the studio has an unannounced FPS game currently under development.

Furthermore, one of the requirements for the job listing mentions familiarity “with the Unreal game engine (UE4/UE5),” which suggests that the upcoming FPS game could be based on Unreal Engine 5, an advancement from the former Unreal Engine 4 that Necromunda: Hired Gun is based on. Unfortunately, this is all the information we have on this unannounced FPS project at the moment. Since these job listings are recent ones, we can expect some news from Streum On Studio or Focus Entertainment about the upcoming game soon.
