Out of nowhere, it was announced a remastered version of Tomb Raider IV, V, and VI would be coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch on February 14, 2025. PlayStation released the announcement trailer and quickly followed it up with a tweet, which has since gone viral.
According to PlayStation’s blog post, Aspyr and Crystal Dynamics, the two teams behind Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, have also worked on this project. Similar to the last trilogy, we will be getting a bundle of three games with several new features, including better visuals, more secrets, classic and modern controls, trophies, boss health bars, and a Photo Mode.
Pre-orders are now live, and you can purchase this trio bundle for the following prices on their respective platforms: $13.49 on Steam, $29.99 on Xbox, $29.99 on PlayStation, and $29.99 on Nintendo Switch. Steam has also listed the minimum and recommended system requirements on the game’s storepage.
A Remaster With Strong Expectations
After a solid success with Aspyr’s Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, making $2 million on Steam alone, it was only a matter of time before the studio completed the hexalogy and remastered the latter half. Fortunately, they’ve stuck to their guns and kept their competitive pricing to attract customers.
Most players buying this bundle will likely be driven by nostalgia, and will have high hopes after how wonderfully the previous remaster was handled. With upgraded visuals, controls, and more in-game content, this remaster aims to enhance the original experience while adding modern conveniences—just like how the Watch app on your iPhone simplifies managing your Apple Watch.
The original Tomb Raider IV, V, and VI were released on PlayStation and PC in 1999, 2000, and 2003, respectively. Tomb Raider IV: The Last Revelation gave players a more story-driven experience, while Tomb Raider V: Chronicles followed a series of flashbacks of Lara’s previous adventures. Lastly, Tomb Raider VI: The Angel of Darkness was a darker, more ambitious entry that introduced stealth mechanics and a more complex narrative.
