Ubisoft has announced that the fourth installment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Black Flag has amassed a player base of 34 million players since launch. The game celebrates this remarkable milestone on its tenth anniversary. Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag inarguably stands out as one of the most popular entries in the series, lauded by the fans for its unique pirate adventure experience.
The developers, Ubisoft took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the incredible news with the fans. 34 Million players have taken on the journey of Edward Kenway, a pirate turned assassin. The title’s unique blend of gameplay, allowing the players to immerse themselves in both piracy and assassination, continues to captivate fans even a decade after its release

Furthermore, a decade into release, fans are practically pleading with Ubisoft to give them a modern remaster or at least a 60 FPS update on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in the announcement thread. In fact, a rumor was making rounds in the community in July this year that the French studio is working on the Black Flag remake. Only time will unfold the authenticity of those rumors but regardless the prospect of exploring the open sea on a modern system is simply exciting.

The open-world pirate adventure title was initially released on October 29, 2013, on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U, and was ported a month later to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Black Flag became so popular that the devs launched it on Nintendo Switch in 2019, almost six years after the initial launch.
