Best Curved Greatswords In Elden Ring [All Ranked]
After having spent 750+ hours in Elden Ring, I present the best Curved Greatswords only the bravest of tarnished can harness the guts to wield into battle!
The concept of the Best Curved Greatsword in Elden Ring is easily unnoticeable solely due to the fact that you might end up using other weapon archetypes in favor of them. These weapons are easily distinguishable mostly because they have a horizontal swing in their normal attacks. Two-handing them can largely increase their damage, but at the end of the day, each is unique, and their full potential is scaled off of your character’s stats.

9. Onyx Lord’s Greatsword
Base Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 118 | 57 |
Magic | 76 | 42 |
Fire | 0 | 29 |
Light | 0 | 29 |
Holy | 0 | 29 |
Critical/ Boost | 100 | 44 |
Onyx Lord Greatsword Scaling and Requirements in Elden Ring:
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | D | 20 |
Dexterity | E | 16 |
Intelligence | D | 16 |
The Onyx Lord Greatsword might not be the best curved greatsword in Elden Ring, but it is the only option of its class usable in Int builds. Still, in my experience the attack rating is fairly low, and there are much better options to use on an Intelligence build of your character. What makes it even worse is that the weapon cannot be infused with Ash of Wars and sorcery enchantments to make it a worthwhile weapon to use.
- The Onyx Lord Greatsword’s unique weapon skill is called Onyx Lord’s Repulsion, in which your character will thrust the sword into the ground and cause an AoE Gravity attack that can knock enemies back.
- The FP usage to activate the skill itself, as well as the fact that you gain no hyper armor during the animation, makes it all the more of a mediocre curved greatsword on my list.
- Lastly, you can find Onyx Lord’s Greatsword by defeating the Onyx Lord.
If you can afford more Str and End, then I recommend the Starscourge Greatsword for more damage, similar skill but lower range.
8. Monk’s Flameblade
Base Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 134 | 61 |
Magic | 0 | 33 |
Fire | 0 | 33 |
Light | 0 | 33 |
Holy | 0 | 33 |
Critical/ Boost | 100 | 39 |
Monk’s Flameblade Scaling and Requirements in Elden Ring:
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | D | 18 |
Dexterity | D | 18 |
The Monk’s Flameblade is not the best curved greatsword in Elden Ring, but it most certainly is the rarest. It starts off at the bottom of my list, solely due to the fact that you will have to claim it via an RNG (Random number generated) drop but also because it has the lowest damage in comparison to the other curved greatswords on my list.
The scaling on the weapon is great, especially if you’re looking to craft a particularly unique Dexterity Build. Still, the mediocre attack rating just makes such a difference that you will most likely end up using a whole different weapon archetype or curved greatsword in general.
- The length of the Monk’s Flameblade is relatively smaller.
- Plus, there are a handful of other weapons that have better skills than the Spinning Slash.
- Dropped by the fire monks, found in the Giant-Conquering Hero’s Grave on the Mountaintop of the Giants.
- It can also be found by farming the Blackflame Monk, located at the bottom of the Divine Tower of Caelid.
There are many options available to use if you are having trouble farming for this weapon, one of those options that I personally have used is the Grave Scythe. It has the same skill and more damage.
7. Zamor Curved Sword
Base Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 125 | 61 |
Magic | 0 | 33 |
Fire | 0 | 33 |
Light | 0 | 33 |
Holy | 0 | 33 |
Critical/ Boost | 100 | 39 |
Zamor Curved Sword Scaling and Requirements in Elden Ring:
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | D | 16 |
Dexterity | D | 18 |
The Zamor Curved Sword is distinctive from most other weapons on this list as it is the shortest curved greatsword among the current ones available in the game.
The weapon cannot be infused with any Ashes of war. Still, aside from that, you get a pretty amazing skill on it called the Zamor Ice Storm. When activated, it will make your character plunge the sword into the ground, unleashing an AoE frost attack, which I found highly fun to use. Overall, it is great, especially if you want to power stance and pair it with one of the best Curved Greatswords in the game, the Bloodhound Fang.
- Great poise and stagger damage.
- Unique moveset compared to others.
- You can find the Zamor Curved Sword by defeating the Ancient Hero of Zamor, the final boss of the Giant-Conquering Hero’s Grave.
If you want more range, magic damage and frost build-up, then I suggest going for Dark Moon Greatsword. Though obtained after completing a lengthy questline, but well worth the effort.
6. Dismounter
Base Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 138 | 65 |
Magic | 0 | 35 |
Fire | 0 | 35 |
Light | 0 | 35 |
Holy | 0 | 35 |
Critical/ Boost | 100 | 42 |
Dismounter Scaling and Requirements in Elden Ring:
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | D | 19 |
Dexterity | D | 16 |
It goes without saying that the Dismounter isn’t a popular choice when it comes to Curved Greatswords in Elden Ring, but you can find it very early and use effectively. It is similar in regard to stats and requirements with the Omen Cleaver. Still, if you’re planning to craft a Quality build, then the Dismounter can fulfill that goal to some extent in its affinity infusions.
- It can also be infused with almost any Ash of War to upgrade its special attack arsenal.
- You can obtain the Dismounter by defeating the Kaiden Sellswords, which are those horseback-riding militia warriors found all over Limgrave, most specifically in camps and outposts.
5. Beastman’s Cleaver
Base Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 143 | 81 |
Magic | 0 | 43 |
Fire | 0 | 43 |
Light | 0 | 43 |
Holy | 0 | 43 |
Critical/ Boost | 100 | 52 |
Beastman’s Cleaver Scaling and Requirements in Elden Ring:
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | C | 25 |
Dexterity | – | 14 |
The Beastman’s Cleaver is a weapon that can be infused with quite a few of the Best Ash of Wars. Also allows you to experiment and imbue it with various types of magical enchantments. But keep in mind, the true difference maker is when you adjust the weapon with affinities such as Bleed, Quality, or Poison. In my experience, I found that the weapon becomes ridiculously strong if you dual-wield or power-stance it.
- Without dual-wielding and with 80 Strength along with the Heavy affinity, I dealt damage close enough to match that of the Greatswords.
- The default weapon skill is the same as the Monk’s Flameblade, the spinning slash.
- Now, the only real annoyance arises when you realize that the drop rate for this weapon is so low that farming for it can be a minor headache in itself.
- You can obtain Beastman’s Cleaver curved greatsword from Azula Beastmen, found in the Crumbling Farum Azula.
4. Magma Wyrm’s Scalesword
Base Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 114 | 66 |
Magic | 0 | 33 |
Fire | 74 | 48 |
Light | 0 | 33 |
Holy | 0 | 33 |
Critical/ Boost | 100 | 50 |
Magma Wyrm’s Greatsword Scaling and Requirements in Elden Ring:
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | C | 24 |
Dexterity | D | 15 |
Faith | D | 18 |
If you’re someone like me who prefers Faith/Strength hybrid builds, then you’re in luck, as the Magma Wyrm’s Greatsword is tuned just for that sort of play style. It is strongly advised that you invest in your strength stat until around level 60 or more, and by then, you will be able to maximize Magma Wyrm’s Greatsword’s damage output.
- You can also level up your Faith to around level 30, which is ideal since you can use buffs alongside it, such as “Flame Give Me Strength.”
- Activating its unique weapon skill, Magma Guillotine will make the player launch forward and strike the ground with the weapon, which will pour out lava in a small radius and deal fire damage to any enemies caught within it.
- However, it is worth noting that you can get interrupted when executing the skill as it doesn’t provide any hyper armor.
- Obtain it by defeating the Magma Wyrm Makar found in the Ruin-Strewn Precipice, which is a small area located north of the Liurnia of the Lakes region.
3. Omen Cleaver
Base Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 142 | 68 |
Magic | 0 | 36 |
Fire | 0 | 36 |
Light | 0 | 36 |
Holy | 0 | 36 |
Critical/ Boost | 100 | 44 |
Omen Cleaver Scaling and Requirements in Elden Ring:
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | D | 19 |
Dexterity | D | 16 |
The Omen Cleaver is one of the few Curved Greatswords that you can receive quite early on in the game. I wouldn’t call it the best curved greatsword in Elden Ring, but it’s pretty close. What makes it such a great choice is the fact that it is versatile in nature. To explain it briefly, almost each of the affinity infusions of this weapon can be great, from Heavy or Quality to even Bleed.
In my experience, finding two Omen Cleavers, infusing them with Bleed, and dual-wielding them carried me throughout the mid-to-late game. I strongly urge you to infuse any other Ash Of War on it to enhance its capabilities further. Furthermore, the total attack rating can strongly scale with your stats and upgrades; combine that with its long length and flexible affinity infusions, and it is a superb all-rounder curved greatsword.
- The Omen Cleaver can only be obtained by defeating the ‘Omens,’ which are the large-sized warrior enemies.
- You can efficiently farm one of them towards the end of Stormveil Castle in the courtyard, which conveniently also has a site of grace near it, making the farming runs easier.
2. Morgott’s Cursed Sword
Base Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 120 | 55 |
Magic | 0 | 29 |
Fire | 0 | 29 |
Light | 0 | 29 |
Holy | 0 | 29 |
Critical/ Boost | 110 | 35 |
Morgott’s Cursed Sword Scaling and Requirements in Elden Ring:
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | E | 14 |
Dexterity | C | 35 |
Arcane | D | 17 |
Morgott’s Cursed Sword is easily one of my favorites, and also a contender for the best curved greatsword in Elden Ring; I used it on its own despite popular builds suggesting to power stance it like the Bloodhound’s Fang. The weapon’s attack rate primarily scales off Dexterity and Arcane, making it a superb choice for Arcane Builds with a bit of Dexterity to help improve its damage potential.
- Morgott’s Cursed Sword has the longest range out of every curved greatsword on my list.
- Its unique weapon Ash of War, is called the Cursed-Blood Slice, where your character will charge forward and deal a flaming blood slash to enemies, causing Blood Loss build-up.
- The skill allows you to possess hyper armor during the animation.
- Lastly, the weapon is obtained by exchanging the Remembrance of the Omen King in the Roundtable Hold.
1. Bloodhound’s Fang
Base Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 141 | 68 |
Magic | 0 | 36 |
Fire | 0 | 36 |
Light | 0 | 36 |
Holy | 0 | 36 |
Critical/Boost | 100 | 44 |
Bloodhound’s Fang Scaling and Requirements in Elden Ring:
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | D | 18 |
Dexterity | C | 17 |
Bloodhound’s Fang has the highest raw damage in the game. It became one of the most popular and sought-after armaments in the game and, quite honestly, the Best Curved Greatsword In Elden Ring.
- The special weapon art is called the Bloodhound’s Finesse, where your character will somersault, slashing at the foe, and then by pressing the heavy attack input, you can follow it up with another ranged swing.
- Moreover, you can also enchant the weapon with various kinds of magical buffs, such as the blood flame blade, which will make its blood loss buildup on enemies much deadlier.
- You can acquire the weapon by defeating Bloodhound Knight Darriwil, a mini-boss who is located in the Forlorn Hound Evergaol in Limgrave.
My Opinion On The Best Curved Greatswords
After having explored everything the Lands Between have to offer extensively and trying out a variety of builds, I can say this with confidence that when it comes to weapons, the best options depend a lot on your overall stats and your preferences. Still, in curved greatswords the best options are more distinctive than others, because here you don’t have too many choices and thus some outshine the others.
What I consider to be the best curved greatsword in Elden Ring has to be either Bloodhound Fang or Morgott’s Cursed Sword. Not only do these have substantial damage and the curved greatsword moveset you’re looking for, they also come with innate skills that are useful in almost every situation, making them idead for all sorts of builds that can slot these weapons.
