How To Get Dragon Scaled Armor In God Of War Ragnarok

In God of War Kratos is sent to kill Ares by the Greeks god only to find out he is the servant of Ares himself. As much as the game is about killing dragons and other creatures, it is also about defending. So, to protect yourself better and fight more efficiently, you will need the Dragon Scaled armor in God of War Ragnarok.

Before we begin, here is a quick look at the stats of the Dragon Scaled Armor:

The Dragon Scaled Armor

Now that you know the purpose of the armor in God of War Ragnarok, perhaps you should be looking for an optimal armor. An armor that will help you in combat and allow you to unlock more achievements. If you are the type of player who prefers to keep a balance, not leaning toward either defense or offense, then the Dragon Scaled armor will do wonders for you in God of War Ragnarok.

Apart from combats, it will also help you in achieving the Dragon Slayer trophy as this armor is required for that. Due to all these benefits, armor is not easy to come by, and as the description of it says that its creation is unique and there is no one known who has slain enough dragons to craft it. 

Therefore, you will need to kill as many dragons, drakes, and drekis to gather enough materials to craft the Dragon Scaled armor. The pursuit of crafting the armor will begin once you enter Vanaheim. There, you will need to complete the first dragon hunt which is optional. That will happen when you are exploring the areas of The Crater. Once you do that, you will then be eligible for crafting the armor.

Items Required For Dragon Scaled Armor

Players cannot expect to get their hands on the Dragon Scaled Armor early on in the game. So, you should know that it requires items that are not so easy to come by. You will need to fight against dragons and whatnot to get your hands on a few of these items. Mainly you will require a good amount of Hacksilver, Dragon Claw, and Dragon Tooth.

The Dragon Tooth and Dragon Claw will only come once you kill a dragon, dreki, or drake. You can find a Dreki near the Forbidden Sands. Moreover, if you have been completing favors, then you might have come across some of these. Killing a dreki will usually reward you with two Dragon Tooth and one Dragon Claw. 

If you want to go on against a dragon, then travel a bit south of The Crater. Once you kill a dragon, you will get around 1,423 Hacksilver and two Dragon Claws. Moreover, near the Cliffside Ruins, you will come across a Drake. Killing it will usually get you four Dragon Tooth.

How To Get The Dragon Scaled Armor

After you get all the required items, the first thing you will need to do is reach the eighth path which is creatures of prophecy. Then, make sure that the Vanheim realm is unlocked, otherwise, you will not reach the desired location. Once you unlock the Vanheim realm, you will need to start Scent of Survival. It is necessary for you to complete so you can unlock The Crater. 

It is a side quest in God of War Ragnarok that will bring you closer to the Dragon Scaled Armor. Once you start the Scent of Survival side quest, you will need to reach the area near The Plains. Once you reach there and enter through the door, there will be a chest on your left. Open the chest to get the Beast Bone present in it. Once you get the Beast Bone, you will be ready to craft the Dragon Scaled Armor.

Dragon Scaled Armor Crafting

After getting the Beast Bone, you will need to go to armor in crafting. If you have 14,000 Hacksilver, 1 Dragon Claw, and 2 Dragon Tooth then you will see ‘craftable’ written underneath Dragon Scaled Breastplate for level six. At level six, you will get an increase of sixty-two in both, strength and defense.

In God of War Ragnarok, if you blocking or parrying will grant you a buff by increasing your strength and defense. Moreover, the passive ability will keep on stacking and it will reset once you take a hit

For the Dragon Scaled Bracers, you need 10,000 Hacksilver and 10 Dragon Tooth. At level six, the bracers will offer you an increase of sixty in strength, and an increase of seventeen in defense. Furthermore, it will increase all shield damage by 25%. If you are successful in blocking or parrying an attack then the nearby enemies will deal damage from the shield.

In the Waist Armor section, you will find the Dragon Scaled Girdle of level six. Crafting it will require 10,000 Hacksilver and 10 Dragon Tooth. It will increase the stats in the same but opposite way as the Dragon Scaled Bracers. The strength will increase by seventeen, while the defense will increase by sixty.

Once you craft all three parts of the Dragon Scaled Armor, you will go to Dragon’s Rebuke II, and so the shield damage will increase from 25% to 50%.

Upgrading The Armor

Apart from crafting the armor, if you have enough resources, you can even upgrade it. The max level you can take all the parts of the Dragon Scaled Armor is level nine. Once you unlock the armor, it will already be at level six. However, the armor at its base level is not so effective and so there is always a need to upgrade it.

If you are looking forward to upgrading the Dragon Scaled Breastplate to level seven, you will need 20,000 Hacksilver and two Dragon Claws. Upgrading to level seven will increase strength and defense from sixty-two to seventy-three.

For level eight, you will need 25,000 Hacksilver, two Dragon Claws, and 1,500 Divine Ashes. Once you upgrade to level eight, the strength and defense will increase from seventy-three to eighty-four. Lastly, for level nine, you will be needing 35,000 Hacksilver, three Dragon Claws, and two Smouldering Embers. So, once you get to level nine, both the attack and defense will reach ninety-five in stats.

On the other hand, you also have the option to upgrade the Dragon Scaled Bracers. Taking it to level seven will require 13,500 Hacksilver and eight Dragon Tooth. By upgrading, the strength will increase to seventy-one and the defense will increase to twenty.

Taking the Dragon Scaled Bracers to level eight will require 16,500 Hacksilver, one Dragon Claw, and 750 Divine Ashes. Once you take it to level seven, the strength will increase to eighty-two, and the defense will increase to twenty-three. Also, for level nine, you will be needing 25,000 Hacksilver, one Dragon Claw, and twenty Purified Crystalline. The strength will then boost up to ninety-three while the defense will increase up to twenty-six.

Lastly, you have the choice of upgrading the Dragon Scaled Girdle. To upgrade it to level seven, you will require 13,500 Hacksilver and eight Dragon Tooth. After upgrading to level seven, the strength will increase to twenty and the defense will increase to seventy-one.

For level eight, you will need 16,500 Hacksilver, one Dragon Claw, and 750 Divine Ashes. At level eight, the strength will increase to twenty-three and the defense will increase to eighty-two. Lastly, for level nine, you will need 25,000 Hacksilver, one Dragon Claw, and twenty Purified Crystalline.

Armors In God Of War Ragnarok

The best armors in God of War include the Nidavellir Armor, Steinbjorn Armor, and Dragon Scaled Armor. These armors have the ability to boost specific stats such as Vitality, Runic abilities, and strength. Moreover, an armor set contains wrist armor, waist armor, chest armor, and an amulet. You can either find armor and if not then you can simply craft it.

However, crafting armor has some conditions. For each armor, you will need to find some materials as a prerequisite in order to craft it. You will have to find these materials in water, chests, or in the loot dropped by an enemy. However, for rare materials, you will need to either complete certain side quests or explore high-level regions where tough enemies lurk. 

Moreover, the armor will be found or crafted at Brok’s or Sindri’s shop. Apart from that, once you get armor, you have the option of upgrading it. An Armor can be upgraded up to level nine in God of War. Moreover, you will need to visit one of the shops to upgrade the armor. Moreover, the more you keep upgrading the armor, the more materials it will require for the next upgrade.

All in all, the Dragon Scaled Armor is one of the best armor that you can have in God of War Ragnarok. However, you will not be able to get it early in the game. Once you complete the Scent of Survival side quest and unlock the armor, make sure you upgrade the breastplate, bracers, and girdle to maximize its potential.
