Resonance Formation

Resonance Formation is the ‘Team Ultimate.’ Although you choose them during a World Run, they are somewhat predetermined when you select a Path because each path has some determined Resonances.

These Resonances are charged during the fight. And when you fully charge them, you can trigger them and get the Path benefits. Now the Resonances themselves are powerful, but they aren’t diverse enough to help you against certain bosses. For that reason, each of the Paths has a total of three Resonance Formations. These Formations make the Resonances further impactful, often helping turn the tide of the battle.

Players get to choose Resonance when they have selected three blessings. As for the Resonance Formations, players can choose from them after they have accumulated six and then ten blessings of the Path.

The Preservation

The Preservation Path is for the players who want to focus more on tanking damage than other aspects of the team fight. For that, the blessings and Resonances of the path mostly focus on Shielding the characters or negating the damage.

Best Resonance Formation

When you get to the Resonance Formation, you have to make sure that you have at least two Preservation characters. Because they will help you generate more shield and, in turn, will make you even more deadly. So here is the Honkai Star Rail Best Resonance Formation for the Preservation Path.

  • Resonance Formation: Isomorphous Reaction – When entering battle, Path Resonance regenerates 40% of Energy. When an ally gains a Shield, Path Resonance additionally generates 3% Energy.

Now the reason I suggest Isomorphous Reaction is because of the Blessings that you’ll be looking out for. It will help you as the Resonance Formation will quickly fill up energy. And then, you can use it quickly to deal damage to enemy waves.

Best Blessings

If you want to maximize the benefits, then here are the Blessings that you should go with.

Blessing NameEffectEnhanced Effect
Divine Construction: MacrosegregationAt the start of the battle, characters gain a special Shield that can abosrb DMG equal to 1% of their Max HP. Whenever another Shield is gained, this special Shield will also strengthen in equal value. For every 2 turns(s), this will be removed, and then this special Shield can be regained. At the start of battle, characters gain a special Shield that can abosrb DMG equal to 10% of their Max HP. Whenever another Shield is gained, this special Shield will also strengthen by 130%. For every 2 turns(s), this will be removed, and then this special Shield can be regained.
Construct: FirmnessShielded characters take 16% less DMG.Shielded characters take 24% less DMG.
Construct: AssembleCharacters gain a 6% DEF increase for each Preservation Blessing, stacking up to a max of 6 time(s).Characters gain a 8% DEF increase for each Preservation Blessing, stacking up to a max of 9 time(s).

With these blessings, you will mainly be dealing damage according to the shields of your allies. With Macrosegregation, your character will have a shield that will allow them to take tons of damage at once. And with the Firmness, they will take less damage if they have a shield, meaning a negation on the damage. And if you consider the Construct: Assemble, the characters get high defense stacks depending on the number of Preservation Blessings you pick up.

All in all, with this Resonance Formation, your characters will become tankier. Now they won’t deal as much damage as usual, but it works great for fights that get extended.

Other Blessings

Now that doesn’t mean that you should completely avoid all other blessings from the Preservation Path. There are a few there that you should prioritize as they will make you even stronger. So, here are the blessings that I believe will help you a lot on your World runs.

  • Interstellar Construct: Quadrangular Pyramid
  • Construct: Sentinel
  • Construct: Patch
  • Construct: Burst

The Interstellar Construct: Quadrangular Pyramid will absorb more damage than before if they have a shield on them. Whereas the Construct: Sentinel will give the characters a high shield when they enter the battle. The shield will last for 2 turns. As for the Construct: Patch, it will give a shield equal to a percentage of HP lost. Lastly, if you’re looking to deal damage at enemies, the Construct: Burst will give your characters CRIT DMG.

The Remembrance

The Remembrance Path is for the players who want to focus on dealing effects to their opponents. The main focus of the Path is the Frozen effect. It is an overpowered effect that will ensure that your enemies can’t even deal damage to your characters.

Best Resonance Formation

When you choose The Remembrance Path, you have to keep in mind that you’d want your enemies to stay frozen for longer durations. So, when you’re considering the Honkai Star Rail Best Resonance Formation, you need to make sure that the Resonance Formation increases Frozen status chances. With that in mind, here is the best Resonance Formation.

  • Resonance Formation: First Love Once More – Upon Battle entrance, Path Resonance regenerates 40% of Energy. When an enemy receives DoT, Path Resonance additionally regenerates 5% of Energy.

The First Love Once More will allow you to charge your energy quicker. That will ensure that you can freeze your enemies quickly. And if you manage to get it right, then your enemies will stay frozen for most of the fights.

Best Blessings

Here are the blessings that will go great with the Resonance Formation.

Blessing NameEffectEnhanced Effect
Perfect Experience: ReticenceAfter an enemy is attacked 6 time(s), they have a 120% base chance to become Frozen for 1 turn(s).After an enemy is attacked 5 time(s), they have a 150% base chance to become Frozen for 1 turn(s).

Experience: Stone Cold HatredWhen a character uses their Skill or Ultimate to attack a Frozen enemy, DMG for this attack increases by 36%.When a character uses their Skill or Ultimate to attack a Frozen enemy, DMG for this attack increases by 54%.

The Perfect Experience: Reticence will allow you to freeze enemies after hitting them 6 times. When upgraded, the base chance to freeze increases, and the hits required to reduce to 5 times. As for the Ultimate Experience: Maverick, it will increase the chance that the enemies get frozen when the battle starts. Lastly, the Experience: Stone Cold Hatred will increase your characters’ Still and Ultimate damage to the Frozen enemies.

Other Blessings

When you’re running The Remembrance Path, you will have to keep an eye on a few other Blessings. They will ensure that the fights are mostly one-sided in your favor. Here are the blessings that you should definitely consider.

  • Ultimate Experience: Sentimentality
  • Ultimate Experience: Shudder
  • Experience: Unspeakable Shame

The Ultimate Experience: Sentimentality will ensure that all of the enemies take damage with each Ice DMG. Whereas the Ultimate Experience: Shudder will freeze a random enemy after one of your characters uses their ultimate. As for the Experience: Unspeakable Shame decreases the resistance to Frozen status by a percentage for each Blessing of Remembrance.

The Nihility

Nihility Path’s main focus is on the DoT of your characters. So, if you have some burn, shock, or bleed effects up your sleeves, now is the time to use them against enemies in different worlds.

Nihility path.

Best Resonance Formation

For the players that want to experience the DoT benefits, then the Nihility Path is the best. With that being said, the Honkai Star Rail Best Resonance Formation for Nihility is mentioned below. One thing to keep in mind is that if you don’t plan on running the Nihility Path, then you shouldn’t pick up any of the Nihility blessings, as they won’t be useful at all.

  • Resonance Formation: Suffering and Sunshine – The attacks of Path Resonance: The Nihility have a 100% base chance to inflict two stacks of Confusion and two stacks of Devoid on all enemies for two turn(s).

The extra stacks of Confusion and Devoid onto the enemies will ensure that you can inflict the DoT effects more often. The Devoid stacks will allow you to break the enemy’s shield quickly. In contrast, the Confusion will ensure that all DoT effects onto the enemies will dish out their damage as soon as the Weakness Broken effect comes into play.

Best Blessings

As for the blessings, here are the best blessings that you should choose for The Path of Nihility.

Blessing NameEffectEnhanced Effect
Why Hasn't Everything Already Disappeared? At the beginning of an enemy's turn, trigger extra DoT 1 times, dealing DMG equal to 90% of the original DoT.At the beginning of an enemy's turn, trigger extra DoT 1 times, dealing DMG equal to 135% of the original DoT.
Night Beyond PyreIncreases Weakness Break efficiency by 30%.Increases Weakness Break efficiency by 45%.
Blind VisionReduces enemies' Effect RES by 12%.Reduces enemies' Effect RES by 18%.

The blessing Why Hasn’t Everything Already Disappeared? will cause an extra DoT trigger onto the enemy, dealing high damage. As for the Night Beyond Pyre, it will help you with extra Weakness and Break efficiency. Lastly, the Blind Vision blessing reduces enemies’ resistance to the effects.

Other Blessings

Now these aren’t some bad blessings. They are, in my opinion, the best that go with Nihility. However, if you are looking for other blessings that are viable, then here are they.

  • Funeral of Sensory Pursuivant
  • Hell is Other People
  • Tragic Lecture

The Funeral of Sensory Pursuivant blessing will apply one stack of Suspicion when the DoT effect damages the enemy. With the Hell is Other People, if your character manages to Break the Weakness of one enemy, then the same Break Weakness effect is applied to other enemies. The Tragic Lecture blessing will increase the DoT effect on the enemies.

The Abundance

If you don’t have a great Healer or you’re waiting for your Healer to level up, then the Abundance Path is just for you. It will allow you to heal your characters even without a Healer on the team.

Best Resonance Formation

If you’ve to consider the Honkai Star Rail Best Resonance Formation, then almost all three of them are good in the Abundance Path. Each of them has their own pros and cons. But if you want the best out of all three, then I have mentioned that below for you.

  • Resonance Formation: Anatta – After Path Resonance Energy is consumed for the first time in battle for the use of Path Resonance, the Path Resonance for the Abundance will appear on the action order. The Outgoing Healing provided by This Resonance decreases by 30%. When this Resonance takes action, it will automatically release Path Resonance to heal allies.

In the Abundance Path, you can survive even if you don’t take a healer with you. That is because the healing that you get from blessings will be plenty enough. As for the Resonance Formation, once you heal yourself, it will go into the Action order. Once it gets triggered, it will again heal, but this time it will be decreased by 30%.

Best Blessings

Here are all the blessings that you should take with the Resonance Formation.

Blessing NameEffectEnhanced Effect
Being of Abundance, Becoming One MindWhen the character provides healing, allies other than the healed target will also gain HP equal to 30% of the Outgoing Healing. When a character provides healing, alies other than the healed target will also restore HP equal to 30% of the amount healed. Increases the ATK of all allies by 15% of the amount healed, stacking up to no more than 80% of each ally's respective Base ATK and lasts until end of the next turn.
Precious Moon-Like CandlelightWhen a character provides healing to allies, increases the ATK of both units by 50% for 1 turn(s).When a character provides healing to allies, increases the ATK of all allies by 50% for 1 turn(s
Extended LifeUpon entering battle, characters restore HP equal to 24% of their Max HP.Upon entering battle, characters restore HP equal to 36% of their Max HP.

If you’re playing with a Healer, then the Being of Abundance, Becoming One Mind, will be your go-to Blessing. Not only will the healers heal the targeted ally, but they will also heal other allies. And if you Enhance the blessing, it will increase their attack too. So with the Precious Moon-Like Candlelight, when a healer heals. Their and the healed ally’s damage will increase.

Lastly, when you look into the Extended Life, it will Heal up your characters when you enter a battle. That will make them much more durable in fights, helping you keep them alive.

Other Blessings

Here are a few other blessings for the Abundance Path that you can choose. Although they are not the priority blessings, they will surely make a difference between victory and defeat.

  • Prosperity, Longevity
  • Mortals of the Buddha-Field
  • Rain of Truth

The Prosperity, Longevity will charge Dewdrop according to the health restored. You can then inflict damage based on the Dewdrop charged. As for the blessing Mortals of the Buddha-Field, it will increase the charging efficiency of the Dewdrops. Lastly, the Rain of Truth blessing will make your characters more durable and allow you to heal more of their health. It will increase the Max HP based on the Abundance Path blessings that you hold.

The Hunt

The Hunt Path focuses on increasing the action speed of your characters. It will also give you more crit damage for your main DPS. That means you will be clearing enemy waves much faster.

Best Resonance Formation

There are a lot of good options for the Honkai Star Rail Best Resonance Formation for the Hunt path. That is why I will leave it up to you to choose whichever suits you the best. However, for the players who have a bit of a problem choosing one, there is one that goes well with everything else.

  • Resonance Formation: Star Hunter – When using Path Resonance, the ally with the highest ATK will be given a turn instantly and be granted Light-Hunting Celestial Arrow, lasting until this ally uses any ability.

The Star Hunter Resonance Formation is the best one out there. Thanks to its Light-Hunting Celestial Arrow buff, your main hero with the highest damage will get an extra turn. Not only that, their CRIT DMG will significantly increase, allowing them to deal a ton of damage in one hit.

Best Blessings

As for the blessings, here are the best blessings of all. They will synergize perfectly with the Resonance Formation.

Blessing NameEffectEnhanced Effect
Imperial ReignWhen a character's turn begins, they gain 1 stack(s) of Critical Boost. When a character's turn begins, they gain 1 stack(s) of Critical Boost and increases the stack limit of Critical Boost to 12.
Adept's BowWhen an ally uses their Ultimate, they can inherit Critical Boost, and number of Critical Boost stacks increases by 1.When an ally uses their Ultimate or performs a follow-up attack, they can inherit Critical Boost, and number of Critical Boost stacks increases by 1.
Skirting Life and DeathIncreases CRIT Rate by 11%.Increases CRIT Rate by 16%.

The Imperial Reign blessing will allow the characters to gain a stack of Critical Boost when their turn starts. That increases their CRIT DMG and CRIT Rate. With the Adept’s Bow ability, any ally that uses their Ultimate will gain a Critical Boost stack and will inherit them. As for the Skirting Life and Death blessing, it will increase the CRIT rate.

Other Blessings

Now these are some of the best blessings that you should prioritize over every other blessing. But if you want maximum benefits, then here are some more blessings that you should definitely consider.

  • Imperishable Victory
  • Monster-Expelling Rainbow
  • Shrewd Arrangement

If you have acquired the blessing Imperishable Victory, the character’s action is Advanced Forward by 100%. When the next turn starts, they gain 4 Critical Boost stacks. As for the Monster-Expelling Rainbow, your characters will recover a chunk of their Max HP when they defeat an enemy. The blessing Shrewd Arrangement will increase the CRIT DMG by a great percentage.

The Destruction

The Path of The Destruction will reduce the damage taken by your characters. But that means that they will now deal much higher damage. So, the lower HP your characters have, the more damage they dish out.

Blessings and Resonance Formation for the Path of Destruction.
Blessings and Resonance that you should choose in Path of Destruction. [Image by eXputer]

Best Resonance Formation

When you’re going with the Destruction path, then the Honkai Star Rail’s best Resonance Formation is mentioned below, and even users on Reddit seem to agree with that.

Now the main reason to choose it is because of the Path Resonance that you get with Destruction Path. It will deal damage depending on the HP difference between the current and max HP of your characters. The higher the HP difference there is, the higher damage the Resonance will deal.

  • Resonance Formation: Cataclysmic Variable – Using a Path Resonance will consume HP from all allies up to 40% of their respective Max HP, increasing the DMG of Path Resonance: Destruction by 20%. The amount of HP consumed will be converted into a Shield lasting for two turn(s), with the same Shield value as the HP lost.

When you use the Cataclysmic Variable, you will lose 40% Max Health of the character. With that in mind, make sure that you use it when your characters have higher HP levels. Because with lower HP, they will become vulnerable to getting killed. When you use it, you will get the HP consumed as Shield.

Best Blessings

As for the Blessings, here are the blessings that I recommend with the Destruction Path.

Blessing NameEffectEnhanced Effect
Non-Inverse Antimatter EquationIf a character's current HP is below 50%, they are considered to have 16 extra stacks of Fighting Spirit. If a character's current HP is below 50%, they are considered to have 20 extra stacks of Fighting Spirit. For every 10% further HP lost, gains 2 extra stack(s) of Fighting Spirit.
Universal Heat Death CharacteristicWhen charcters are hit or consume their own HP, they gain 4 stack(s) of Fighting Spirit. When the turn ends, the character loses 4 stack(s) of Fighting Spirit. When being hit or losing HP, the character gains 4 stacks of Fighting Spirit, and adjacent allies gain 1 stacks of Fighting Spirit. When the turn ends, the character loses 4 stacks of Fighting Spirit.
Orbital RedshiftIncreases Max HP by 16%.Increases Max HP by 24%.

You will prioritize these blessings over others for a few reasons. First of all, the Non-Inverse Antimatter Equation will give you tons of stacks of Fighting Spirit. For each stack, the characters with HP below 50% will gain 3% Attack and 3% Defense. It works perfectly with the Resonance Formation: Cataclysmic Variable as that consumes 40% HP when used.

Now the Universal Heat Death Characteristic will give additional stacks of Fighting Spirit if they lose HP or it gets consumed with Resonance Formation. Lastly, the Orbital Redshift will increase Max HP. That, again, goes well with the Resonance Formation. The more Max HP you have, the higher damage you will deal to the enemies.

Other Blessings

If you’re looking for other blessings that you can take to help you on your travels through the worlds of the Simulated Universe, then look no further. I have a few other blessings that you can take while using the Path of Destruction.

  • Disciplinary Flicker
  • Destructive Flare
  • Devastating Accretion
  • Metric Reservation

The Disciplinary Flicker will restore a percentage of Max HP if the current HP is lower than 35%. Whereas Destructive Flare will increase the damage by a certain percentage if HP is lower than 50%. When talking about Devastating Accretion, it will increase Attack and Defence by 0.8% and 0.5% for each percentage of HP lost. Lastly, Matric Reservation will give a Shield that will absorb up to half the HP lost.

The Elation

With the Elation path, the damage for each follow-up attack increases significantly. The Elation Path is more of a Niche path. So unless you want to invest in it in the long run, I don’t recommend focusing on it much.

Resonance Formation for the Elation path in Honkai Star Rail.
The Elation Path is for players that want to utilize Follow-up attacks. [Image by eXputer]

Best Resonance Formation

With the Elation Path, you have to ensure that you have acquired the Blessing ‘Champion’s Diner: Cat’s Cradle.’ Because if you haven’t, then the damage won’t be as good as you’d expect. The best Resonance Formation for the Elation path is mentioned below.

  • Resonance Formation: Instant Win – When entering battle, Path Resonance regenerates 40% of Energy. When a character launches a follow-up attack, Path Resonance additionally regenerates 5% of Energy.

With it, you can quickly fill up your energy and deal massive damage to the bosses and elite enemies with ease. That will allow you to clear out waves faster.

Best Blessings

When you look at the Blessings, here are some of the best to go with the Resonance Formation.

Blessing NameEffectEnhanced Effect
Champion's Diner: Cat's CradleWhen characters deal DMG to an enemy with their Ultimate, this attack is considered a follow-up attack. Increases the DMG of follow-up attacks by 15%.When characters deal DMG to an enemy with their Ultimate, this attack is considered a follow-up attack. Increases the DMG of follow-up attacks by 55%.
The Painted AlbatrossFor each enemy hit by a character's follow-up attack, the character deals Additional DMG equal to 24% of their ATK to all enemies hit.For each enemy hit by a character's follow-up attack, the character deals Additional DMG equal to 36% of their ATK to all enemies hit.
SuspiriaIncreases the DMG of follow-up attacks by 26%.Increases the DMG of follow-up attacks by 39%.

The Champion’s Dinner: Cat’s Cradle will make damage dealt with the Ultimate as the follow-up damage. And with the blessing, you will get 15 extra damage. But if you were to enhance it, then the damage would increase more than three times. The Painted Albatross blessing increases the overall damage output. The damage will increase by a specific percentage for each enemy hit by the follow-up attack.

Lastly, the Suspiria blessing will increase the follow-up damage. All in all, with these blessings, your follow-up damage will increase significantly. The Elation Path is best for the worlds where you have to get rid of the bosses and higher-level enemies as fast as possible.

Other Blessings

Apart from all of these, here are a few blessings that you should go for when you’re on The Elation Path. These blessings, although not as good as the ones I suggested, will definitely help you come victorious from a fight.

  • Slaughterhouse No. 4: Rest in Peace
  • Portrait of a Man On Fire
  • Platinum Age

Slaughterhouse No. 4: Rest in Peace will inflict the Aftertaste damage. If the Weakness is broken, then your character will deal one more turn of damage, and with an upgrade, that becomes two turns. The Portrait of a Man On Fire allows you to deal with different types of Aftertaste Damage. Lastly, Platinum Age will increase the character’s Defense that launched the follow-up attack.

These are the Honkai Star Rail Best Resonance Formations I used in my gameplays. They have helped me a lot when clearing a harder world.
