Terraria Boss Order
With the right weapons and the right execution of skills, these unique bosses can easily be taken down. As equipping better weapons as you progress is the only way you’ll up your mana, the better weapons you hold, the easier it would be for you to defeat bosses. Following is the order in which you should fight the Terraria bosses and a description of how to defeat them.
The Eye Of Cthulhu
The Eye Of Cthulhu will be your first boss encounter in the game, and this boss is a big circular eye look-a-like creature that roams the arena.
Once you’ve reached 200HP, the probability of the eye of Cthulhu to spawn at night is 33%.
Another way to summon this boss is to kill demon eyes that fly about at night and collect their lenses( you’ll need about six) Now go to the Demon or Crimson Altar( the natural crafting stations) to craft a” suspicious-looking eye”
Once obtained, utilizing this item at night will summon the Eye of Cthulhu.
When it’s about to show up, a message, “You feel an evil presence watching you” shows up. It is not important to defeat the boss to win the game however its rewards are what tempt the players to fight it.
The eye of Cthulhu will spend most of its time hovering above you. It will summon its servants that’ll attack you. A good strategy in this situation is to equip a weapon such as a sword. Aim towards its pupil where its servants spawn. After sending its 3 or 4 servants towards you, the eye will attack you, but you can evade these attacks by dodging. Hit it with arrows before he disappears after his attack to set on fire. In the second phase of the fight, this eye will shed its iris to reveal a fanged mouth. The mechanics of this transformed enemy differs slightly. Do not attack it while it charges at you, attack only when it pauses for a few seconds after 3 consecutive attacks.
Tips and Tricks
If you mine a lot you’ll eventually find a gravitation potion. Using this potion on the surface allows you to control gravity and fly. Look for a floating island to discover a sword called Starfury, that can easily defeat this Terraria boss
Despite barely qualifying as a boss, King Slime manages to give newcomers a hard time who do not own up-to-the-par gear. Most of its attacks are predictable And it cannot move through the blocks, giving a visible advantage to the player.
King slime possesses a unique spawn system.
Under the following conditions, the king slime can be spawned
- Make Gold or Platinum crown and then you should go to at the Demon Altar and combine it with 20 gel.
- By defeating 75 slimes during a slime rain.
- King Slime boss has also a great chance of spawning in a slime rain.
King slime attacks by hopping onto the player. Its jump depends on the distance between the player and the slime, if you are too far away from it, it would teleport to you. The more damage it takes, the smaller it gets making it more critical to hit. King Slime spawns many small blue slimes with a very basic moveset, this Terraria boss can be defecated using weapons like guns.
Tips and tricks
To counter the King Slime without taking much damage is to dodge its ability to teleport. This can be done by using a rope at placing it on the highest point, ( about 35 blocks) above the ground and climbing it. In this way, you can attack him without him teleporting to you.
Making one or more platforms can also help. Or using the roof of a small room as king slime cannot move into tightly enclosed spaces.
Eater of Worlds /Brain of Cthulhu:
This Terraria boss is fairly difficult but holds plenty of rewards, and can give you a tough time. When in the terrain of corruption, you’ll fight this boss as Eater of Worlds. The Brain of Cthulhu is the Eater of the World’s counterpart you’ll face in Crimson Terrain.
The Brain of Cthulhu can be spawned through
- Smashing three crimson hearts
- Using a bloody spine
While the Eater of the Worlds can be spawned through
- Using Worm food in corruption
- Smashing three shadow orbs
The brain of Cthulhu will be surrounded by at least 20 creepers during the first stage of the boss fight. In this stage, the brain cannot be attacked. The first stage is probably the toughest as well as the boss teleports to your position and behind you along with creepers for extra damage. So, your priority should be to take out these little creepers first before you can actually damage the Brain of Cthulhu. With very low health, this boss now is very vulnerable. Use your strongest weapon to destroy it.
The Eater of The Worlds is a worm that possesses many segments. Use weapons like guns to give these segments a lot of damage. Once you’ve killed a segment it the segment in front of it and the one behind it combines to form a new worm with a new head and tail. The Head has the most damage but lacks defense while the tail is more defensive but lacks damage.
Tips and Tricks
For the brain of Cthulhu, it is recommended that you prepare your arena beforehand with lighting and campfires and keep your weapons ready. Also, use sunflowers for extra speed and a reduced enemy spawn rate
A very useful trick to defeat the eater of the world is to break one of the orbs and wait for the meteoroids to land. Mining this meteoroid will give you a space gun and meteoroid armor. You can exploit the space gun’s infinite ammo to annihilate bosses pretty easily in Terraria.

Queen Bee is important in to Destroy in Terraria Boss Order because killing her will summon the witch doctor to your village. After killing her you can also explore the jungle and the underground.
Queen bees can be spawned under the following conditions
- Go to the jungle biome and find a beehive. Go inside and break the larva this will summon queen bee
- Using abomination in jungle or underground jungle
Queen bee can poison you if you touch it or its stingers. Like many other bosses, the queen bee also has its minions called bees. When it attacks you you should do a double jump or dodge its attacks upward. The poisoned debuff lasts longer from touching the queen bee as compared to being hit by one of its stingers.
In this situation use the honey pool from beehive to regenerate health.
Tips and tricks
Using a space gun here would be very useful as well. Honeypools for health regeneration is quite helpful here too.

The boss ‘Skeletron’ protects and guards an underground labyrinth known as the dungeon. This boss is the old man you’ll find outside the dungeon. This old man is cursed and defeating the skeleton will break his curse. This hellish boss is difficult to fight and dodging its attacks can be quite a nightmare. The boss’s structure Is a skull with 2 arms
Skeletron can be summoned by doing the following
- Talking to an old man near the dungeon entrance at night
- Killing clothier who is an NPC vendor by using a clothier voodoo doll. This must be done at night
To defeat this boss, you must destroy its skull. It attacks using its arms and is capable of swinging them at different times and directions. This is what makes skeletron’s attacks hard to dodge.
Use weapons that’ll help you damage its arms as well as skull. Arms being weaker can detach quite easily.
Skeletrons deadliest move is undoubtedly its spinning attack in which it fixes its arms in an uphand position. Dodge its attacks otherwise if you got caught in its combo attacks, you’ll lose a slot of health. Make sure you destroy skeletrons skull before daybreak because, after it, the skeletron will spin continuously at you causing an extreme amount of damage.
Tips and tricks
Spiky balls obtained from the goblin army can prove to be useful during this fight. Spread them out on the arena where you fight skeletron. They will keep damaging it while you fight.
Wall of Flesh
The last boss you’ll encounter before you enter the hard mode is the Wall of Flesh. this wall the size of your screen uses lasers and a mouth to attack you.
Head to the lava in the Underworld and throw the Voodoo doll in steaming lava while the thing still lives. The easiest method to acquire the voodoo doll in Terraria is by defeating a Voodoo demon.
Staying in front of the boss will give you an edge while fighting this boss in the game. This will gradually move towards you. Keep a distance from it but don’t get too far as it might pull you towards it and you can get damage from the hazards such as lava. Use your lava charm here just in case. The wall of flesh initially attacks you using its small mouths called the hungry that have a long vein attached to them. Attacking them will consequently detach them and then they’ll come towards you. Once they’ve been defeated, focus on attacking the eyes first and then the mouth, as the eyes lack any defense.
Another enemy you’ll face while fighting this wall is the leeches. These leeches are released by the wall’s mouth. They’ll drop a heart when they die, make sure you collect them as they’ll help you fight the wall. Use your melee weapons to kill them.
As the wall gets more and more damaged it’ll start to move faster and the damage by lasers will increase.
Tips and tricks
A strategic way to defeat this boss is to get the Obsidian potion and a Feather fall potion to move deftly across the arena. You can also build a bridge across the underworld to give you swift mobility.
Another strategy is to use hellstone to produce a Phoenix blaster and use meteor bullets with it to produce maximum damage.

The mechanical version of Eater of Worlds, this is the first boss you’ll face in the hard mode. It is necessary to beat this boss in order to unlock plantera.
- Smash a demon or a crimson altar
- Use a mechanical worm at night
It digs underground and will attack you from beneath. The head will give you the most damage. Each segment would attack you by firing lasers. Its attacks are difficult to dodge due to its lasers being shot at different trajectories. It also spawns many probes that have the ability to move through blocks. It has a probability of 33% to drop a heart when killed. Try dodging upwards while fighting this boss, because if it manages to get above you, it’ll give you little to no space to dodge its probes.
Tips and tricks
A good way to defeat this boss is by obtaining Daedalus Storm bow. This can be done by summoning a hallowed mimic and defeating him. Pairing this with Jester arrows will give you a very powerful weapon. Fly around the arena with wings while shooting the destroyer. This way you’ll be able to get more hits across without dealing much damage.
Unlike many others in Terraria Boss Order – This boss is even harder than the destroyer, and while playing Terraria on hard mode, expect to get attacked by this boss out of nowhere. The creepiest and probably the hit marker points of Skelton Prime boss are its four limbs: prime vice, prime saw, prime cannon, and prime laser.
However, you can deal the highest amount of damage to the most exposed and easy-to-hit part of this boss; the head. The interesting point here is that if you focus entirely on the boss’s head and kill it before attacking the rest of the four limbs, you will get to beat the boss and not worry about the four arms as they kind of die on their own.
Every arm possesses a unique attack pattern. The Prime Saw is the least aggressive but does high damage. Prime Vice has less damage but will attack you more than Prime Saw. Meanwhile, Prime Laser hovers above you shooting lasers. However when enraged, this limb tends to be the most aggressive one and significantly a difficult limb to destroy.
Prime cannon shoots bombs that explode when impacting a solid block. This arm is fairly less threatening than others.
The head floats above the player at all times and just like skeletron, also has a spinning attack in which the rate of attack of other limbs doubles as well.
Tips and tricks
It is best to destroy its arms first because that’ll leave its head very vulnerable.
Using a golden shower will also help.
They are like the eyes of Cthulhus but combined. These deal the most damage out of the three mechanical bosses and are very difficult to destroy.
- Smash a demon or a crimson altar. However, this applies to the trio of mechanical bosses. If the twins are the only ones left, they’ll be the ones to spawn.
- Use a mechanical eye at night
Both these eyes must be defeated separately. One of these eyes is called Retinazer. It has a red iris and shoots laser. The other is called Spazmatism and has a green iris and fires cursed flames.
Retinazer does less damage than Spazmatism but has a higher accuracy rate.
Retinazers lasers become difficult to dodge as the fight goes on. It is recommended that you defeat Spazmatism first due to the greater amount of damage it deals.
Tips and tricks
A magic weapon that uses curses like a Megashark with Cursed bullets can deal a lot of damage on twins and be quite beneficial in defeating them.

The boss ‘Plantera’ appears once you’ve defeated all three mechanical bosses I.e The destroyer, skeletron prime, and the twins
This boss can only be summoned by breaking Plantera’s bulb found in the jungle biome
If you have speed-boosting equipment, you can easily dodge this boss’s attacks. Don’t stop moving and use the arena to your benefit by preparing the space as more long and narrow.
On 50 percent health, the boss’s petals wither and green maw appears. At this stage, plantera is on max speed and defense
Try to kill its tentacles by shooting it continuously and dodging its attacks.
It will attack you using seeds, thornbills, hooks, and spores. It will also release its minions known as biters.
Tips and tricks
Make the area extensive and light it up using torches
Throw spiky balls all over the place to cause extra damage.
Weapons like guns with meteor bullets and bows are helpful in this fight.
In Lizahrd temple you can fight a boss known as Golem
It is a very powerful boss with a high hp and a variety of attacks but due to it being not much mobile, you can dodge its attacks easily.
Using the Lizahrd power cell at the Lizahrd altar can summon this boss. To get into the temple you’ll need the temple key that plantera drops so fight it first.
Try to focus on its head and damage it using weapons like guns. The head will spit two fireballs that’ll move around the arena. Dodging the fireballs is important in is stage. Once on 50 percent, it will start using eye lasers as well. Destroying the head will reveal its TRUE form and all the remaining limbs attack you with increased damage
Tips and tricks
Poison bullets with a heavy damaging gun can cause a lot of damage. And prove to be very useful for this fight.

Duke Fishron can be summoned using a Fishing Pole with a Truffle Worm that is found in mushroom biome, as Bait in the Ocean.
Duke in its first form charges its flurry and attack you five times with a short break between each attack. After charging it’ll produce two attacks. The first attack fires around 20 Detonating bubbles
In its second attack, it will create two Sharknados on either side of it that’ll send its minions called sharkrons towards the player
When below 50 percent his eyes gain a glow and he stops moving for a second
In this stage, his speed increases and the damage rate goes up. But he becomes more vulnerable as his defense goes down
Tips and tricks
Getting a unicorn mount and making a bridge over the whole ocean can be very helpful
Sharknados can be avoided by using fast wings or a mount summoning item like Cosmic car key to helping you stay above them
This is the second last boss in Terraria Boss Order. Defeating the Lunatic Cultist would summon the Celestial towers
Killing the 4 cultists that spawn in front of the massive Golden sphere would summon the Lunatic Cultist.
This boss has three primary attacks
A ball of ice that rotates while shooting shards.
Three fireballs that would explode upon contact.
A stationary orb that has the ability to summon deadly lightning.
When in a vulnerable state upon being damaged enough, a fourth attack, in which the Lunatic Cultist summons two ancient Light projectiles that can be destroyed.
After a series of attacks, the cultist would now produce multiple copies of himself that are not mobile.
After this, a Phantasm Dragon will spawn and if it is already present, an Ancient Vision will spawn. The clones of lunatic cultists would keep on spawning the more you attack them. A good way to spot the fake ones is to fight this boss in the night as the fake ones would glow.
Tips and tricks
A good way to destroy this boss is to get chlorophyte bullets.
Keep in mind the Lunar events would start right after you defeat this boss so be sure you’re fully prepared.
The final and the most difficult boss of Terraria is the Moon Lord.
You’ll face this boss once you’ve destroyed the 4 Celestial towers.
The moon lord has eyes on its hands and forehead, you can only attack them and most of its main attacks come from here as well. The eyes on its hands shoot phantasmal spheres and spawn phantasmal eyes, alternating between them.
Its forehead shoots the phantasmal deathray. The eyes only take damage once they’re open or active. When you’ve defeated an eye it comes off and is now Th True Eye of Cthulhu. The empty eye sockets now have fangs that only damage upon contact.
Sometimes a tongue can also spawn from its mouth that’ll try to lick the player and Cause the Moon Bite debuff.
By far, the deadliest attack that the Moon Lord produces is the Phantasmal Deathray. Dodging it must be a priority.
After you defeat all 3 of the boss’s eyes, you must face the hardest part of this boss, it’s core.
Tips and Tricks
A good gun with Chlorophyte bullets along with good armor is necessary for maximum attack power and strong defense against Moon Lord’s attacks. Another strategy is to build a flying mount to land a good amount of damage without taking much damage from his attacks.
