Black Desert Online is an MMORPG known for its immersive open-world. Its dynamic action-based combat system sets it apart, requiring manual aiming, dodging, and combo execution. With 27 distinct classes, each character brings unique abilities and playstyles. Having a broad understanding of the overall classes and their stats will help players avoid underperformers. That is why I have curated the BDO tier list and ranked all classes along with their Awakening and Succession styles.

How It Works

S-Tier

The S-tier classes in BDO are the best, excelling in both Player versus Player (PVP) and Player versus Environment (PVE) scenarios.

From my experience, I can tell you that these classes, such as the Awakening Musa, Berserker, or Striker, have unparalleled versatility, powerful elemental attacks, and seamless combo execution. Their combat abilities are extremely useful in siege events and castle battles. I believe that these classes showcase superior damage output and survivability.

A-Tier

A-tier class list in BDO that I have listed are strong contenders, offering impressive performance with slight trade-offs compared to the S-tier.

These classes, including the Ranger, Succession Kunoichi, and Awakening Valkyrie, excel in specific areas but may require a bit more strategic control and execution. A-tier classes still provide raw power in both PVP and PVE encounters, making them popular choices for players seeking balanced gameplay with a slightly different flavor.

B-Tier

B-tier classes represent solid choices in the game, offering reliable performance without reaching the pinnacle of the S and A tiers. Classes like the Maehwa, Valkyrie, and Kunoichi are considered dependable but may lack the same level of dominance in certain situations. While B-tier classes remain effective, players may need to invest more effort to achieve success, particularly in high-stakes PVP scenarios and challenging PVE encounters.

C-Tier

The C-tier BDO class list I have curated above represents average performance, requiring players to put in extra effort to shine in competitive situations. These classes, such as the Sage, Kunoichi, Wizard, Succession Dark Knight, and Maehwa, may lack the same level of versatility and power seen in higher tiers. While still usable, C-tier classes demand a much more refined understanding of the game’s mechanics and strategic ins and outs to compete effectively in both PVP and PVE.

D-Tier

According to me, the BDO D-tier list is less favorable due to inherent weaknesses or underperforming aspects. Classes like the Nova, Awakening Guardian, Awakening Shai, Succession Lahn, and Tamer may face challenges in both PVP and PVE due to limited abilities or specific shortcomings. I highly suggest you steer clear of these classes in the game, especially if you are just getting the hang of the mechanics!
