S+ Tier Weapons
S+ Tier holds the best-in-class guns in Modern Warfare 3. Rifles like MCW and M4 dominate every other gun in this category and melt targets in a matter of seconds. If you like running and gunning in tight maps, then Lachmann Sub SMG will make killing other players effortless in multiplayer.
While most guns require you to spray your targets with at least 20 bullets, guns like Lockwood 300 from S+ Tier can one-shot an enemy if you have the correct build. As I mentioned, you cannot go wrong with any weapon in this tier, as they’re the best in the game.
S-Tier Weapons
S-Tier Weapons have a reputation that is second to none in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3. These weapons come very close to the overall performance of the top-tier guns in the game. Weapons like FTAC Siege, FSS Hurricane and Longbow cater to various playstyles and shred targets.
The guns in this tier could outclass the top tier if you slot in the perfect attachments and make the best-class setups in COD MW3. Prioritizing damage should always be the focus, but not at the cost of recoil or range. Strike a perfect balance, and S-Tier guns will dominate in PvP matches.
A-Tier Weapons
A-tier weapons are not the absolute best Call of Duty Modern Warfare, but these are not the worst either. Guns like Chimera, Fennec 45, and Basilisk were hard to rank for me, but after careful testing, I had to list these in the A-tier. These weapons are so good that if you are a good aim, you can see them holding their place in the S-tier.
There is a little learning curve involved when it comes to handling or mastering A-tier weapons. You need to be aware of which gun is best for close, mid and long-range engagements and learn how to use each weapon best. If you own this, then you could potentially destroy opponents running with higher-tier guns by using A-tier weapons in MW3.
B-Tier Weapons
The B-tier guns in COD MW3 are a mixed bag of performance. They either have good damage, range, rate of fire, or reload speed, and these weapons do not excel in more than one factor. You can always make a build centred around guns like BAS-P, 556 Icarus, and Crossbow to shred players in PvP, but if you do the same with the higher-tier weapons in MW3, chances of success are much higher than B-tier guns.
C-Tier Weapons
C-tier weapons in COD MW3 are underwhelming in terms of overall damage, STK and TTK factors. They require combat mastery and good control over your controller or mouse for aiming and slotting in the perfect attachments. There are too many factors to go with when playing the C-tier weapons in the game. I do not recommend picking these guns, not even if you come from COD MW2.
D-Tier Weapons
The D-tier COD MW3 weapons are the least-performing guns in the game right now. The best case use is that you keep these armaments as a finisher weapon, just in case your primary weapon mag runs out, so you switch to D-tier weapons and land a killing blow.
Using D-tier guns in MW3 as the go-to weapon will only get you killed frequently!
COD MW3 Weapons Tier List Criteria
The way I have curated this tier list is based on a number of factors that include:
- Weapon damage
- ADS (ms)
- Reload speed
- Rate of fire
- Velocity
- STK (shots to kill)
- TTK (time to kill)
