Atreus Too Is Sick Of Handing Out Hints In God Of War Ragnarok

The voice actor of Kratos' teenage son was also annoyed by the constant hints his character gives during the game.

Story Highlights

  • Atreus’ voice actor Sunny Suljic also thinks the constant indicators during God of War Ragnarok’s puzzles are annoying
  • The actor expressed his dislike for this aspect while talking to IGN, saying he gets sick of hearing his voice.

Just like the players, Sunny Suljic, Atreus’s VA in God of War, is also frustrated by the incessant directions his character gives in God of War Ragnarok. While Santa Monica Studios’ adventure game launched to universal acclaim back in November, it did have a few irritating aspects. One of those was the constant hints characters like Atreus give during puzzles. And as it turns out, the performer who brought him to life shares a similar view.

While speaking to IGN at the BAFTA Game Awards, Sunny Suljic expressed his annoyance with this particular aspect. The reporter asked Suljic if it was fun hearing his voice give answers to the puzzles in God of War Ragnarok. But, the actor’s answer made it clear that the incessant suggestion Atreus gives is anything but fun. He said that the experience is “frustrating” and makes him sick of hearing his voice while doing the puzzles.

Actually, for me, no! ‘Cause I’m trying to do the puzzles and I hear myself giving myself the hints and I just get so sick of hearing my voice sometimes. Oh, dude, it’s so frustrating, but it is what it is.”

God of War Ragnarok was a massive critical and commercial success when it came out in November 2022. The single-player title reached its initial sales target in just a few days and has gone on to sell 11 million copies. Its critical triumph isn’t a secret for anyone as the Santa Monica title has won several Game of the Year awards. However, even this perfect video game has a flaw that fans wish developers didn’t include.

Santa Monica hasn’t corrected this annoying facet, which irritates even the voice actor of Atreus himself. But, you can play God of War Ragnarok for its overall brilliance right now on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
