An Xbox Game Pass app notification has seemingly confirmed that Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2 might finally be coming to the subscription service. Note that a similar notification was sent out earlier in August 2023, which might’ve been a mistake, as pointed out by Twitter/X user Idle Sloth. If Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2 are really coming to Xbox Game Pass, we might see an official announcement soon.

It has happened multiple times that Xbox Game Pass app notification has given away many upcoming titles to the subscription service long before any official announcement. However, it should also be taken into account that sometimes, these notifications are sent out by mistake. But, in the case of Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2, it appears that these games might finally be coming to Xbox Game Pass soon.
In December, Larian Studio’s founder Sven Vincke confirmed in an interview with IGN that Game of the Year 2023 winner Baldur’s Gate 3 won’t be coming to Xbox Game Pass. According to Larian’s founder, they had made a big game without any micro-transactions. He also clarified that “you get what you pay for” and “this is what allows us to continue making games.”
