Valve’s official verification means the game is completely functional on the Steam Deck. All its functionality is accessible using the handheld’s built-in controller. The game will also show Steam Deck controller icons and the in-game interface text is easily readable for games. Moreover, the default graphics configuration performs exceptionally on the Steam Deck hardware, ensuring that there will be no extra optimization issues to deal with.
Baldur’s Gate 3 was already playable on the Steam Deck platform and did not require a lot of tinkering to work. However, there were some issues with crashing and launching the title smoothly. Certain caveats surely hindered the user experience on the platform in the past, but they have massively improved.
