CRISIS CORE -FFVII- REUNION Release Date Officially Revealed

The release date was announced in a reveal trailer during Nintendo Direct.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 was originally launched more than a decade ago and was well-received for various reasons. The title received high ratings due to innovative gameplay, memorable characters, and a heart-touching narrative that added even more depth and richness to the world of FINAL FANTASY VII.

Now, it is returning in the form of a remake. The original Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 was a 2007 hit on the nostalgic PSP that is still reminisced by the community.

Due to fans’ requests, Square Enix is finally bringing it back, and it is closer than you think. Square Enix is working on multiple remakes, including the anticipated CRISIS CORE -FFVII- REUNION remake that is slated to release in just a few months.

A French retail site initially leaked the release date two weeks ago. It was labeled to be 13th December 2022, which has proven to be correct. The official release date has been announced in a new reveal trailer during the Nintendo Direct event. The CRISIS CORE -FFVII- REUNION remake will finally be released during the Christmas season.

In the past, we were only familiar with the fact that CRISIS CORE -FFVII- REUNION remake was supposed to release in the upcoming winter. The game was expected to be delayed to next year like most AAA titles that were initially planned for 2022. However, the title will be releasing on December 13th, as officially announced.

The upcoming remake will explore the events that transpired leading up to the events of Final Fantasy 7. Moreover, it will also investigate the character of Zack and how he ties in with Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, and Sephiroth’s history.

Moreover, the lore of CRISIS CORE -FFVII- REUNION remake is essential for the two upcoming Square Enix Remakes. However, it is worth noting that Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion is a faithful remake and will not incorporate any extra content, as cited by one of the game producers.

Crisis Core Reunion’s story is actually going to be a very faithful retelling of the original story, so there’s no additional story content,” read Mariko Sato. The main purpose of the remake is not only to re-live the nostalgic memories of PSP game sessions.

This remake is intertwined with the overall Final Fantasy 7 remake project. The story of Crisis Core: FFVII Reunion remake will essentially tie in with the two upcoming remakes.

Each upcoming remake will add richness and detail to the others to enhance the overall experience. Fans of the series can expect to be pleased to witness how all the lore pieces connect together. However, if you are new to the series, then there is no reason to fret.

The upcoming remake will also serve as a standalone adventure for the newcomers. Existent experience with Mako, Shinra, or anything else in FINAL FANTASY VII is not required to follow the lore of CRISIS CORE -FFVII- REUNION remake. 

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion remake is coming out on PS4PS5Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, the Nintendo Switch, and Windows. The community is highly anticipating the alluring project, and we may hear more news in the coming future.
