Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s Final Trailer Shows A Bit Too Much Of The Story

Players are not happy with the spoilers.

Story Highlights

  • Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is an upcoming action-adventure RPB by Square Enix for the PS5 exclusively.
  • The game just received its final trailer ahead of global release, expanding on the story and the plot.
  • Players are of the opinion that this trailer shows off a bit too much of the story, and thus spoils it.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s final trailer is an explosive display of the events that are going to occur in this continuation of the three-part Final Fantasy remake trilogy. Right ahead of the RPG’s late February global release, Square Enix has given one final send-off to the title’s marketing, but players aren’t too happy with what they see. As per viewers, the trailer shows off story elements it’s not supposed to this early on.

As the news found itself scattering over on Reddit, one u/MrFOrzum complained, “And as last time, they are showing off way too much stuff lol,” with u/ShoddyPreparation then saying, “It’s Square Enix. You kind of have to expect the final trailer to spoil just about everything. That being said, we basically have no idea how Zack is factoring into anything other than he is there. So they have that.”

There is a sequence of gameplay footage too in there, along with an exhibition of some of the bosses we’ll be fighting in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. But what’s of more interest in the trailer is the appearance of surprise characters that the community is thrilled to perceive, such as Gilgamesh, and Cissnei.

What is Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth? The Unknown Journey Continues… After escaping from the dystopian city of Midgar, Cloud and his friends set out on a journey across the planet. New adventures await – prepare to sprint across grassy plains on a Chocobo and explore expansive environments. Join Cloud and his friends as they embark on a journey across the vast and vibrant world filled with secrets, powerful materia, and unforgettable friends and foes,” reads the final trailer’s description.

For those not in the know, Rebirth is the direct sequel to Final Fantasy 7 Remake from 2020, which itself is a revisited version of the original 1997-released Final Fantasy 7. There’s a lot of hype around this upcoming RPG, being a proponent of PlayStation’s premiere Final Fantasy franchise. It’s set to be a standalone game with no save data carrying over from Remake.

The title is coming out on February 29, 2024, for the PlayStation 5 exclusively.
